Thanks to Beltfed's Jeep colors thread....

I stopped by the Jeep dealer on the way home from work yesterday to poke around, ended up the proud owner of a new Wrangler.

2006 Wrangler X. 4.0L 6 speed, khaki inside and out, cloth top with soundbar.

What no power windows?
What are you using it for?
Have you driven them before? They are not the best thing to daily drive/live with.
But I guess good luck with it.

Wasn't sure if the new car threads went there or here, feel free to move

Guilty as charged for the sucker comment.

Get some half-doors, and some bigger tires. The Old Man Emu shocks are leaps and bounds better as far as ride is concerned.

Isn't a new model coming out in 07?

Very nice BTW, though get rid of those wheels, or at least have them powdercoated black.

Oh yeah... and don't keep anyhting valuable in it. Keep the doors unlocked. The stock center console is useless for keeping anyhting of value. Get a Tuffy Box that is actually made of steel, and mounts underneath the back seat.

Congrats on the new truck.

I thought the reason you got rid of the S2000 was to get rid of car payments though?

Congrats Matt, I know you were having issues with that jeep you inherited, and a new Jeep is probably a pretty decent car for AZ...

yeah new model comes out soon, I like this one though, and new models won't have employee pricing deal.

Wheels and tires will be the first things to go...

I'll look into that box. Definitely not keeping anything worth anything in this, not even upgrading the stereo.

It was, but my other jeep is nickel and diming me to death. My windshield wipers stopped working, which I found out is probably a $350 repair. That was a the last straw...if I'm going to be paying bills for a car, might as well be lease payments for a new one instead of maintaining some old hunk of crap.

Looks good, congrats.......Wranglers are cool, enjoy and have fun with it.

Also, if you drive with the doors off. Please be smart and use the seatbelt, but I'm sure you know that.

I'm always happy help inspire others to spend money.

www.quadratec.com if you want to get into modding

The doors that mclarenf3387 posted are the half doors, but if you dont mind seeing the road a bit more, these are awesome:

It's probably too hot in AZ to ride around w/ the doors off isn't it?

THIS PAGE should give you enough ideas to empty out the wallet. I love the work AEV does on Jeeps. Just don't expect them to reply to an e-mail

I just picked up one too to replace my TL and I love it so far. Mine is a 99, 4.0 auto, full doors, soundbar, soft/hard tops, and I bought a bikini top too (it's a soft top material that just covers the front two seats, from the sound bar forward to the windshield)
