Test drove RSX-S ...

While having my car in the service department, I came to see my saleman to ask about the RSX. He told me it's really hot. They sold 12 cars in less than a week. I ask for a test drive and he went to get the key (knowing that I'm not, by any chance, buying a RSX).
We drove in a red RSX-S. Overall, the car was nice. I didnt like excess plastic from the console, the celica-like exterior. The speedometer was nice. The stereo will be a b!tch to upgrade.
The car performance surprised me. I first shifted at 3500 but the saleman asked me to shift after 6000 to see the real RSX so I did.
Damn!!! there was a big chirp when it went from 1st to 2nd, and I didn't push it really hard. I wont be surprised when one of these sleepers pass me in the future.
I asked him about the performance chip removal deal and he told me no or at least he wasnt aware of it.
The experience was nice but I like the old look of the Integ better.
IMO, I'll pick the old design with the new engine any day over the new design.

Cool. Was the engine smooth across the rev range, or did it get buzzy in the higher revs?

uhhh ... I dont know. I'm not a stick guru. I havent driven stick for more than 2 yrs. All I know it when you shift from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 ... it's not really smooth .. maybe it's just me.
