Couple of mods,
Removed the resonators Cant really tell the difference from before and after in the vid, the difference is under load, and it is perfect. I added the R calipers today and had the windshield tinted a while back. Ownership has been amazing, wish more car folks lived around this area though. Better pictures to come eventually.. when i find someone better at this than I am |
Beautiful and the resonator delete sounds awesome.
|
Local dealers want $10K to $20K over sticker for just the GT350. It's ridiculous and one of the things I hate most about dealing with Ford dealers.
|
Not trying to derail the thread, just curious. If they're charging $20k over sticker does all $20k go to the dealer or does Ford get a cut?
Beautiful exhaust btw |

Beautiful exhaust btw I really like the new Corvette Grand Sport but I'm not abandoning my Shelby. |
Awesome looking vehicle. They're hard to photograph in darker conditions. I was reading about this in Car & Driver and really liked it and would possibly consider one in the future.

I put 1500 miles on it driving to Georgia to check on my mom and surprise my son, it will go up for the winter from here on out. My impressions:
My hatred for left lane drivers has been renewed On my way down i experience some stupid people, like a Hyundai that rode my bumper.. sped up in front of me and when I would try to pass he would go between the two lanes so I couldn't go anywhere. In Atlanta and on the way back I had a much better experience. I saw another GT350 on the road (white with blue stripes) and you'd think from my reaction that I have never seen one. The guy pulled into the next parking lot and we talked like we've known each other for years.. very cool. For the longest time I have loved Porsche, and owning a 911 was the pinnacle for me, not any more. This is it. The power is amazing and ridiculous. The guy I talked to had a GT500 previously, he says the experience is different in the GT350. The transmission is GREAT but.. 6th gear is blah. I thought this gripe was excessive on the Ford forums but they are right. It's mainly because you put the exhaust in sport mode to hear the exhaust, and in 6th the exhaust valve is closed and it goes quiet. Easy Fix. I went to a track day at Atlanta Motorsports Park with tons of different cars, but I was just there to see friends and did not participate. With that said I heard a lot of different engines, on the track.. the GT350 is pretty unique. I still love hearing the Corvettes, Zz, or AMGs, but I like mine the most. (maybe a little biased) Exhaust is too quiet for me, I need normal mode to sound like sport, and sport to be louder. Flat.. you just dont feel body roll in the GT350. That is different for me coming from a Honda Accord. Best vehicle purchase ever made. I could sell it right now and make $10k+ on it but I'd feel like I was cheating myself. Im never selling this. |

Love this car! Congrats!
Any reason you chose the GT350 vs GT350R? The heated/ cooled seats? I have been seriously looking at this thing....i have also spec'd it out black with no stripes.... |
Yes, money, availablity and he liked the regular one better. :O
Is that a rig shot? Must be...so cool! My buddy that works at Ford had a guy show up with one of the new badass 1 of xxx mclaren p1's...the guy apparently has every super car there is...lambo, ferrari...and he takes them to the track and beats the hell out of them. He picked up a GT350 also... well, a few months after, he came by the dealership and told my friend that it had been a long time since he bought a car that felt THAT complete and didn't need anything to be fun on the track. he loved the car out of the box and felt a rush when driving it. :woot: That's quite a compliment for a car. |

Loseit, I didn't go with an R for a few reasons but the main one is I have a 14 year old son that is a car enthusiast so I needed a back seat. I have everything from the R I'd want in mine.. the expensive carbon fiber wheels would come right off if I had one. Rockstar, First time I've seen a rig shot done, it was very cool. I went to a car meet and a photographer asked if he could do it right there. My daily is a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser, so the contrast when I drive the Shelby is significant. This morning I drove the Shelby from work and it is ridiculous. The perfect amount of torque and just how connected I feel to it, it really is a treat. I look to replace it in three years and I expect to have a six figure budget, but I don't know if I can find something that replaces this. All automatics/DCTs are eliminated, I've thought about a used Audi R8 V10 but we'll see.. for now I'm very happy. |
Thanks for the well thought out and worded post, I always appreciate what you have to say/share.
Awesome! |
Buys Shelby GT350.. :toocool:.
Already has replacement in mind. :what:. You, sir, are even crazier than I am. Beautiful car though.. |

I would love to see a back to back comparison between the GT350 and the new Z06.
Looking forward to seeing the rig shots. By the way, how stiff is the suspension on a day to day basis? |
Photographer makes all the difference.
nokiaman: the suspension day to day is no issue, its stiff but thats all i've ever known. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...c1396ff896.jpg |
