I don't know how to get into it, but to put it in plan english, think of the SMG in the Z4 to be like that basic Norelco shaver you can buy for $39.99, while the SMG in the M3 is like the Norelco shaver that's got more adjustablilty and features, but for $159.99.

In a nutshell, you can modify the behavior of the SMG in the M3, while in the Z4, you either can't adjust it at all, or you have very minimal adjustability...I don't remember which it was.

I drove one about a month ago, and although it's a nice car it's not what I would buy, for both style and performance reasons. Looks like a chick car and it's not that fast. As everyone has sad the SMG was horrid. People are crazy for taking SMG over a 6 speed.

Just flip it if the numbers work out.
