50k is a large amount of money for anyone. But if you consider and have the meanings for a new X5, I take it that you're comfortable driving a luxury vehicle. I get where she's coming from as well.

Jesal, you just like to go car shopping, so it doesn't really matter that she pulled the plug... Now you get to go to more dealerships

My buddy just traded in a '08 X5 for a '08 MDX. They loved how the X5 drove but he complained that it was a rattle trap that the dealer could not fix. The final straw was when it would not shift into reverse in their garage one morning last week. They had a MDX in their garage the very next night.

Cool

They FINALLY bought something today

New Acura MDX with tech package and tailgate thingy. $500 under invoice with 2.9% for 60 months.

Which I came to realize something. They drove the Toyota Highlander last week and loved it but what stopped them was the price. They didnt want to pay $40k for a Toyota.

So thats where the Acura badge comes in. For close to the same price they were able to get an Acura over Toyota. SO yes there are people who still pay extra for the name. Its their money so they should be allowed to feel good driving a "name" brand car.

LOVED the Highlander too!

Congrats to them on the Acura. I hope they enjoy it well.

Honestly, I'd be very curious knowing what it'd be like to be a Toyota owner - or a Subaru owner (both, great companies). I've never felt loyalty towards any car company thus far, including Honda and Acura.....in fact, especially Acura, with the way they handled their tranny issues. I'd love to experience something different next time around. I'm over the Acura experience, for now at least.
