No weird wear at all, but I've only had them for 1,000 miles.
Tire Rack asked me to have Discount Tire do another road force balance and send them the results. Discount Tire said they usually don't run into issues until the number gets to 30.
I sent Tire Rack the results and was waiting for their feedback. So, I'm changing my oil yesterday and as I'm draining the oil I take a peek at the wheels. I see three of the wheels have 2-3 small weights near the edge of the barrel, while the drivers side front has 10 huge weights and they're literally hanging off the edge. I've never seen that before. I'm wondering if they did that to compensate for the tire being out of whack? I'm disappointed that Discount put them on there like that, and if it is because they had to to try and balance it with the tire being out of round, why didn't they tell me that?
After sending both the road force results and the photo of the wheel with the weights hanging off, Tire Rack is sending me three new tires. I can't say enough about how great the Tire Rack customer service has been!

I'm surprised they aren't blaming a bent wheel.
You know something crazy...some time in the last decade
they started making the wheels more bendable to take the hit of a curb or pothole to lessen damage to the car or losing control.
It is wild to see some of the new Acura wheels that are bent on pretty new wheels.
That's what I was told at least...
so when they take the tire off the worst one, have them run it on the balance machine without a tire just to watch for a wobble.

Tire Rack is fantastic. That's crappy that DT didn't see that and question it though.

Holy wheel weights
Hopefully the new tires resolve it for you.

The 3 replacement tires arrived yesterday and I have an appointment to have them installed at a different Discount Tire today. Fingers crossed.

I didn't let the balance issue stop me from testing the tires out in the snow. They handled fantastic.

I took the Elantra N to the drag strip a few weekends ago for the first time. The first run I couldn't get launch control to activate but I still ran a 13.1 @ 108. My second run I was able to get launch control to work and I got into the 12s. That was my first 12 second pass for me. The best the Charger R/T ever ran was a 13.4 @ 104.
It was a fun day. I met a nice guy with a 2015 BMW 135i that looked completely stock. It was consistently running low 10s. Fully built motor, big turbo, meth injection, etc. Love those sleeper builds.

It gets the power down really well now. Stock it can struggle with bad wheel hop. I installed Powerflex street bushing in the lower rear engine mount which basically eliminates wheel hop.
I'm still on the Continental DWS06+ tires. I feel like the 18" wheel/tire weight savings helps a ton with getting the car moving (shaved 9lbs off each corner). The DSW06s aren't as sticky as the Michelin PS4Ss, but since they have a taller sidewall, they flex a little bit more which I think helps with traction.

For sure man. I wouldn't do too much to this car. If anything I may get a drop in ECU tune. It'd make around 320whp. Anything more than that and the power would be very hard to put down.

I recently Hyper-Dip'd the Hyundai badges and replaced the chrome N badge on the trunk with a black one.

I am! Once I accepted the seat is what it is and I can live with it, it's been good. I can find no fault with the car so far. It's really entertaining yet incredibly practical, which is exactly what I was looking for.

1 year of ownership is in the books. I'm quickly approaching 20,000 miles. I just got back from a 1,400 mile road trip. I averaged 34.5 MPG, which is insane. I have had no reliability issues at all. Other than a few interior rattles and seat comfort, I have no complaints. The car has been an absolute blast.

Wow, crazy it's been a year already.
Glad you're still enjoying it.

Oh ok then it probably actually has some frills. His probably has adaptive cruise and wireless carplay, which the N doesn't get.

Yeah, definitely not a base, but still peasant-spec compared to the N, from a car-guy POV.

I installed this massive noise maker that makes the turbo go whooooosh this weekend. I love it.
Also installed the turbo inlet. It's just a tiny bit bigger than the OEM inlet.

I'm actually really surprised the factory inlet is aluminum. Most car companies switched to plastic.

Right? You'd think they would've cheaped out and done plastic or rubber.
