SuperTrooper169's Hyundai Elantra N

I'm back in a Honda Accord. 2021 Honda Accord 2.0T Sport in Sonic Gray Pearl. I flew to Chicago and drove "Sonic" home Monday night. It feels every bit as quick as the Charger in Sport mode, yet only needs 87 octane and gets nearly 34 MPG, so win-win. I love the adaptive cruise, wireless Apple Carplay and the LED lights. Shoot, I even appreciate the backup camera since the Charger has zero tech in it. It just feels like a really nicely balanced package -- good brakes, nice ride, handles curves well and has just enough creature comforts to make it feel upscale. I'm happy.

Sapphire gone?

I really liked both the Accord Sport [6MT] & Touring [10AT] I drove when they came out
The 10AT is really good, doesn't seem to hunt for gears like some other 10spds I've driven (F150).

Congrats!

Love the new Accord sports ... Just wait until you look into turbo upgrades / playing around with a little ethanol - those things will make your Charger feel slow when you get moving.

No, I still have it. Trade in value was pretty depressing. I'm going to private sell it.

I'm still getting used to the 10spd but so far it's pretty good. I got used to crisp hard shifts in the Charger so it fees soft and surgy at times, but I noticed the same thing when driving other transmissions with 8+ speeds so it's probably normal. It's really fun in Sport mode with the paddle shifters.

Thanks bro! Believe me I've already done a ton of research into all that stuff. I will eventually mod it, but I'm going to be good and just enjoy it stock for a while, especially since gas prices are insane right now. But even stock it feels fast. It's a lot of fun for a family economy sedan.

I figured if anyone could have a laugh at the bell of shame for going from a mopar back to and Honda it was you.

I thought it was funny & posted in jest. But with nothing for 'context' could see it going either way.

Congratulations! Love that color. Did you get a good deal? How was the dealer experience?

Next time you're in town send me a message and we can get a beer! Or if you need any help with local stuff around here.

I think this baby will last you a long time and you should have fun in it.

Zero context dude. I've never seen that meme before so I didn't know the joke behind it. But since you went in an ever further departure from MOPAR, I won't take it too seriously.

Thanks man! I feel in love with the color the first time I saw it on the online review press cars. They have a really nice blue called Still Night Pearl but it's so close to the Charger's blue so I decided to go in a completely different direction.

The price was good for the market, but I sure wish I was looking for a car a year ago. It was the best deal I've come across since starting to seriously look in November of last year. The dealer experience was excellent! Advantage Acura was top notch. My salesperson was amazing. No pressure and very accommodating.

I'll definitely hit you up next time I'm in Chicago!

Every time a drive a 10G Accord I'm always pleasantly surprised by the handling. Definitely feels stable like my TL-S and rides much smoother while doing so. Nice Whip!

I'm not sure if that's a compliment or another joke

You certainly did not go faster in refueling or avoiding catching on fire

Yes the handling is 100% better than the Charger, even after all the mods I did to the suspension. It's about 700lbs lighter than the Charger and you can really tell. Also, the steering feel is so much better than the Charger's.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the car. I can't stop looking back at it after I park it. And plus that nighttime parking lot lighting is just dope.

Electric is the future but, I can't help but be happy that turbocharging is becoming more popular in Honda's lineup.

I love the new Accords.

100% agree, it is the future, but not for me just yet. It's a cool feeling driving a Honda with torque. There's still some slight turbo lag depending on the speed/gear, so it still has the nostalgic feel of a little 4 cylinder Honda at times lol.

fair enough. But that’s usually said by people who’ve not driven them. Don’t forget my car before this was the Alfa Stelvio.

I've driven a Model 3 Dual Motor, I loved it.

I say "appliance vibe" as more of a joke - it's still a fun car in it's own unique way but I could see myself getting bored of it fast. Lacks character

In that you don't have to tear the entire car apart every other weekend to fix what went wrong?

It doesn't have a character of something like a B5 S4 but the torque and speed really don't get old IMO...and not paying for gas definitely doesn't get old.

This is why you and I aren't the same - I don't see cars as appliances ... I love the full ownership experience & pride I get from wrenching on my own cars.

It's fast and economical .. that's it.

Also, other than self inflicted & shoddy work I did building the car .. car hasn't been apart in 3 years. Minor fixes here and there, minor software revisions

Nice, and that’s easily the best color on the 10G. I came close to getting the Touring version prior to my A-Spec.

Now that you have it, time for some K-Tuner treatment.

The Touring is so nice but I’m not a fan of the chrome they plaster all over the exterior. K-Tuner will definitely happen in the future.

I considered an older one with the 6mt but I’ve been dealing with elbow issues lately so a manual wouldn’t be feasible on my daily.

I sold the Charger today. I listed it last night on FB market place and my phone blew up almost immediately. I ended up getting over asking price and it’s staying local. It’ll be cool seeing it cruising around town.

I found the 10AT in the TLX I drove was very responsive compared to the 5AT I have in my TL. Definitely agree the touring is tacky looking with the side chrome stop too. Same goes for the new MDX, I find it ruins the lines of the car.
