I love that you love your car and you don't just sell and trade easily...
there's something to be said about making memories and keeping up with a car.
Still looking fire, brother...good shit.
Thanks hombre! And I concur, it’s nice to make memories and not worry about every scratch and ding anymore. I have spent many sleepless nights perusing FB Marketplace and Autotrader looking at SRTs and Scat Packs, but other than more horsepower and modern conveniences, they’re not THAT different than what I have already, so I never do more than just window shop.
7 years ago today I drove Sapphire home from the dealership. I can't believe I made it to 7 years with any car. I had an impromptu photo shoot the other evening waiting for our takeout. 11 years old with 111k miles but still gives me giggles when I floor it. I have been tossing around the idea of a few mods, but dropping 2 Gs on getting the A/C fixed last year kind of took the wind out of my sails for putting any more money into her, but we'll see.
Car still looks great man! I know mod money is tight but ... what's next?
Thanks hombre! I’ve been thinking about a 6.4 intake manifold and LMI True CAI for about $1500. With a revised tune it should be good for a 40whp gain in the mid range but not much of anything down low or up top. Or drop $4500 on a custom VVT cam and make that much all across the RPM range. Of course superchargers still peak my interest too but it’s a $10k investment if I have it installed, but 550whp all day long on a very conservative tune.
Thanks man. Other than the A/C issue last year it’s been rock solid. It’s never too late to come back to the MOPAR family.
I'm still in the FCA family with my wife's Alfa...which just got a Mopar battery under warranty. Otherwise, current money is allocated towards other things, and if it wasn't I'd be driving a Giulia.
Glad to see you're still kicking ass and taking names.
I vote to not spend any bit sums of money on the car.
Enjoy it for what it is. Save for a down payment on whatever
your next car is. Or buy cocaine and blowies or something.

I know it’s been a while, but who are you? This can’t be the same rockstar I remember who would’ve told me to throw a supercharger and a turbo on with a 3 stage 200 shot of NOS just for safe measure. But I do appreciate the sage advice, whoever you are.
Decided to jump down the rabbit hole. 392 intake manifold, 85mm throttle body and an MSD window switch needed for the swap. Now I need to figure out which CAI to run.
Thanks dood! Yes I’ll have to get it retuned, especially with the 392 manifold because there’s a major dip in power when the long runners switch over to the short runners, so a good tuner should be able to smooth that out.

What sort of gainz will you get?
Supposed to be 30-40 hp in the low to mid range RPM band, but I’m skeptical it’ll be that much. We’ll see. I am going to get a better CAI and it’s a bigger TB so it’s possible it’ll make that but I’m not holding my breath.
do you ever think we are pound wise and penny foolish...
can't afford this or that...nickel and dime ourselves.
then @SaaBaaDoo shows up with a widebody whatever
the fuck he wants and you think, man...I'm a good person.
Why shouldn't I be financially irresponsible too!??!

just do it man!!!
I helped a friend do the 392 intake manifold swap with MSD on his 5.7. Think he had a broken manifold or something but that engine started knocking BAD!!! Had to swap it back over to the 5.7 manifold and it went away. I'm sure that messed up his engine some but he doesn't care.
Are you using HP Tuners or something like that to get the most gainz (bro)?
40 should be fucking noticeable!
Diablo Predator but custom email tuned by a very well known and repeatable tuner by the name of Hemifever. I may bring it to a local speed shop to have it dyno tuned to get the max out of it, but it'll be at least $700 to go that route vs either free or minimal cost to have my tuner revise the file. But yeah 40hp would absolutely be noticeable. Most everyone that's done the swap says it's the best butt dyno results out of every bolt on.

Oh I've thought about it, many times, but I've grown very sentimental to Sapphire and haven't had a car payment in over 4 years. I'm really thinking about giving it to my son when he's old enough to drive. Then maybe it'll be 700hp time for me.

Nah, it definitely needs to be tuned after the swap if hooking up the actuator to switch runners. I have heard that the engine will go super lean up top if untuned, but I'm damn sure going to get it tuned before hammering on it.
