Nice read from Edmunds: http://www.insideline.com/features/2...claren-f1.html

I'm sure the Veyron is godly...but, there is one true king of the god cars IMO, and that's the McLaren F1...forever.

Although, I do have a real soft spot for the Pagani Zonda.

If I could afford either, and needed a supercar, i'd buy a ZR1 and use the rest of the money for a house!

If you could afford either, you'd probably already have several homes.

i simply have no respect for the Bugatti Veyron. any car can be fast with 4 turbos and 16 cylinders if tuned properly. A sports car/gt tourer (if really about the speed and the numbers that bugatti people always brag about) should NEVER weigh in at 4500lbs IMO. Also, a true car (actually anything in life for that matter, according to me) should be about balance. the Veyron is incredibly over the top (and it is here that people argue, if you have that kind of money, you deserve the craziest car...NO). The McLaren F1 with an equally astronomical pricetag balances power with precision with handling with driver-being-one-with-the-car with heritage with exclusivity, et cetera. also note how far ahead of its time the McLaren is: its being compared to a 2005+ veyron. and IMO, no car has matched the overall experience yet (since a car is never just about top speed comparisons...)

cliffs: McLaren F1 is superior for being the balanced driver's car.
the Bugatti Veyron is simply another toy for the super rich.

Impressed at the writing of Mr. Bean. Love how his coat is thrown on the passenger seat in the F1 photos

Didn't Rowan Atkinson have a Mclaren himself that he crashed?

[edit] He did...this was the picture around the Internet as a result

+1! Very surprising. Loved the insight that was provided. Most of the articles about the Veyron are all positive with almost no substance.
