I voted to save up for a new car.
May not be the best move in the bunch (or economically sound, I should say ), but that is always up for debate. Since you said preferably, and not 'definitely' when it comes to considering brand for your next car, I would also have to suggest if it isn't too out there as far as price range and what you are looking for, to look at the new line of Audi's.
They are sex. Hands down. As you can see in my avatar, I love the new A4. They start at $32K, or $33K if I'm thinking correctly. Of course, unlike Acura, that is bone stock with no options and a 2.0 liter. I'm not a big fan, but I know some people really like the A3's too. Something else to think about.

This might help people suggest things, unless you truly are stuck on Acura.
What's your price range?
Two or four door?

Save your money. Or sell crack, and get the new car all the while putting away money.

you looking to go to school? working a full time job? leaving home soon?
i bought a new car because im probably not moving out for another 4 yrs when i get my degree. since my parents arent helping me with school funds, they're letting me stay at home rent free. so i took the money i would use for rent and bought a new car while working a full time job while being a full time student......

yea Im full time at Youngstown State University. Ill be working like 25-30 hours a week at Advance Auto Parts. aand ill be getting paid more than minimum wage. My grandpa left me and all my siblings a ton of money before he passed away so my college is payed for and my parents dont charge me for living at home. Thats why I think I could save money up fast if I stop going out so much haha.

Nothing wrong with a Protege, but personally I'd want a funner car to drive it for school. Save your money.

i personally would be perfectly happy w/ a 5 year old car in college. It might not be the funnest car in the world, but cars are a bad investment to begin with, and I wouldn't want to put all my money into a new/used car to drive to school, as usually they aren't very car friendly.

I understand people that have the mod itch, so maybe you can put some money into it but just be sensible. Audio is always alright since it can be swapped out, just depends if you DIY or are spending a lot of money on installation, tint is relatively cheap, wheels and suspension are a little bit bigger investment for a protege. Schools are never a great place to have expensive stuff in your car though.

I voted to just save your money.

I don't know why we bother responding. In all my time here, I have never seen a kid in school take our advice and not buy a new(er) car.

Keep your money for hookers and coke.

You should just go buy a CLS6, that's my advice and I think you should take it.

There, you happy? You got the suggestion you wanted.
I feel like such an enabler.

Save money period.
Your tuition is paid for, you have a GREAT college car SAVE SAVE SAVE.

If you save through out college (by your age, you just started) you can do two things after you graduate:

1. Take a nice long trip before you start your career (Europe, Asia, etc...) I wish I had done this
2. Buy a nice new car

Wait.
So when you said 'new' car, you meant new for you, not new altogether???

Lol, forget my first post then. Definitely not under 10K.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, you're essentially driving a free car.
Savor the flavor until you're out of college, THEN blow all your hard earned $$ on a new(er) car.

Save your money. Buy a new car in a few years, when hopefully there might be some kind of an emerging consensus from auto-makers on an alternative fuel.

Hey, we can always hope, right?

Keep your money for hookers and coke.
They want help rationalizing a reckless expense.

The idea that an older car isn't fun is really annoying. A well maintained used car is no less fun now than when it was new. They constantly refresh models specificly to make people think that a five year old car is old long before it's useful life is close to being finished.

I vote save your money and buy a used car for under 10G that fits your personality. Have it checked out by an auto diagnostic before signing on the line.
