Well, the interior is a HUGE step down, especially from the current TL. Less so from the 2nd gen, but still a major loss of luxury. The interior is quite spartan, so if you care about that you'll be disappointed.

If, however, your need for speed is greater than your need for luxury, you won't be disappointed. That car is FAST and fun to drive.

I would love the STi but not with that new Alfa Romeo refresh. Also, it's your best bet to get a new since you don't know how the previous owner drove it. You don't buy an STi to baby it, you buy it to drive the hell out of it.

Its a completely different car...if you care more about performance and handling than luxury then go for the STI.

a lot depends on how you drive. I'm a SCCA member and occassionally my buddies out there let me drive their cars. So I've driven Z06s,Stis,Evos,etc. anyhow If you're all about speed for a "reasonable" price. Then check out a Evo or Sti. If you're about comfort and like to "play" with the car. look at a TL or CTS-V.
Now personally I like the Evo a little better. plus I'd wait on the Evo 10. I've seen car show photos of it I think it's gonna be hot. I just don't like Subaru's big hood scoop.

if you like modability, speed, AND luxury.... look at the Legacy 2.5 GT Limited..... everything you want and you get 250 hp stock, with a few mods (check for mattg on here) you can have 300hp easily, and turbo upgrade and you got 330awhp, while still havein heated leather and a 6cd changer ....

And now Navi is an option on the LGT, assuming one does not mind the auto tranny.

You went to a STi board and they all liked it?

They are two different cars. You will love the quickness, handling, etc.

You will not like the interior and lack-of luxury, when comparted to the TL.

Talk to mattg, or read his threads about the Legacy. Its got the best of both worlds, performance and a touch of luxury. And it's a sleeper.

That's a pretty big assumption.

....I saw that on Subaru.com about an hour after my last post. (I just did not feel inclined to post an edit at the time.) But, correct.
