I've wanted to change the stripes on my Mini for some time. I don't like the factory stripes, never did. When I got the car I didn't have much of a choice. I want to change them, and possibly go from the hood to the barn doors (but not stripe the roof). I thought of the Viper GTS style 2 stripes in the center of the hood running to the back, then again I was thinking about a single stripe offset on the side of the hood and barn doors...

I like the red stripes better to be honest.

 

I like that checkered roof. If that's not your car do that. And I don't like the stripes really so neither of those.

offset looks not so great. i liked the blue stripes they had on the white mini in italian job...

 

It's just when I think offset stripes, I think ricers. It's a Mini, not an Ascari or a Viper.

The one you posted did. I'm not a fan of offset stripes period, but at least the one I posted is a bit better. The big stripe isn't so fat, the whole thing is pushed over more to the side, and it's an accent color.

 

I say go flat black no stripes..... A stealth type look, and black out as much chrome as possible

ever think about painting the headlight housing? should be super easy. the mini headlights are probably easier to remove than in any other new car.

 

My OCD would never allow that off-set stripe. No way.

Shoofin, I really like the offset stripe, but I personally don't like the silver with black stripe. I think it looks really "young". I prefer the white stripe on gray, center (ala Italian Job) or double white offset stripe.

This is such a matter of personal taste, though. Go with what makes you happy!

Ive never liked stripes. Always was a fan of symmetry in car designs... so nooo offset.

OK...Let me remind you that my car is a lease...granted i'm probably going to buy the car after the lease most probably, I don't want to do anything to the car that isn't reversible (like painting parts). And i'm not saying this so you can convince me to do nothing, I still want to do the stripes, I don't mind putting a few bucks into a car i'm going to still have for a while.
