Street Rods

So, here's a little insight as to why I am a car fanatic. I grew up in my dad's garage watching him put together his custom '37 Ford street rod, a 25+ year project in the making. Every year growing up, our family vacation revolved around the "Street Rod Nationals" which is a massive car show. The midwest show, the Milwaukee Nationals is tomorrow and it's the first time my dad will have his car in the show. He's too cool to show it, but I know he's very excited!

Anyone else have an interest in vintage cars? I would assume most people here at least repect the level of customization in these vehicles. I know that many of the cars are worth 10's of thousands of dollars and the paint jobs alone are worth seeing! I wish I didn't have to go solo--anyone in the Milwaukee area available to go??? It's hard to be a chick and like cars. It leaves me pretty limited when I'm trying to find someone to hang with and gawk at cars.

Anyways, thought I'd ask if anyone else has an interest or even own a street rod. I'd love to have a '34 Ford, full fender with a Chevy big block. I'm sure my dad would love that...

If anyone's interested, www.nsra.com is the official national street rod associaton website. The big, big show is in KY this year and I have been twice to the KY show. It's so much fun and many happy memories for me. If you're in the KY area in Aug., I highly reccommend checking it out!!

I love old cars. I wish I had the space and the $$ to restore one.

A coworker brought a 49 Chevy pickup to work yesterday. He's restoring it to originaly condition. It's very nice!!
