Stock up on those oil filter...

Advanced Auto has the Purolator PureOne Oil Filter for $5. online orders only...

if you order 5 of them for $25, you can use the BIG10 coupon for $10 off... so you basically get 5 premium oil filters for $15... i just picked my order up yesterday...

here is from sd.net

Mobil 1

Like the Champ filter, this filter is made by Champion Labs. However, it uses a unique end plate and a thicker can that make it the strongest filter available for wide distribution retail sale. It also uses a synthetic media, which inproves filtration and flow. I'm happy to say that this filter is NOT a fake. It is definitely a unique design.

It uses a synthetic fiber element that can filter out very small particles and is very strong. It is rated just under the Purolator Pure One as far as filtering capability, but is still very much above conventional paper filters. It also has a very strong construction to withstand high pressure spikes during start-up. However, as with all Mobil 1 products, expect to pay 2 - 3 times as much for this filter.

I have received many reports of these filters failing at high pressures. It seems that the seam where the backplate crimps to the case can split.

Five for the price of two . Don't think I'll do five more oil changes on this car, but still worth it. Thanks!

Advanced auto has some good coupons. I ordered 115 dollars worth of stuff and only paid 75 to get it shipped to my house (minus 6 bucks of tax).

yup. but I had to go over 75 cause I didnt want to pay 20 dollars for shipping. So I practically got 18 bucks of stuff for free since the original price of rotors I was going to get were 97 bucks.

and I like running these filters, they get great reviews from BITOG and they are cheap too. these are the only filters I run besides the occational mobil/K&N

Whew. I had a momentary ping of fear when I read this thread title. I thought the government had ordered the stop of oil filter production by 2020 or something like that in order to get people into electric cars.

Carry on.

I need to pick some plugs up. Seems like a good time. Plus I go through 12 oil filters a year.

thats not so cheap. I stocked up when there were 5 dollars for a gallon of pennzoil platnium from walmart after main in rebate.
Valvoline also had 30 bucks off 2 gallons of synpower from Kragens, also around 5 bucks for a gallon bottle. plus a pureone filter for 3.50 and I can get 3 oil changes for less then the cost of 1.
