STI, EVO or R32

Hi guys. My friend who currently drives 2003 CL type S is looking for a new daily driver. Sadly he will be turning in his CL for a new car. He is into handling and wants a "super" handling car as daily driver. His choices are STI EVO and R32. I told him to test drive them all and he did except the EVO, since he couldn't find one in the area. His primary choice was S2000, but for daily driving in philadelphia forced him to look at AWD only. So what do you guys think.

I like the STI but the look of R32 is sweet. Its a hard decision.

EVO and STi are about the same... the R32 not. I would definitely go for the STi... 300 hp and 300 lb of torque is exactly what he wants... not to mention the handling the car. I test drove one like a month ago and I was impressed dude. Also, EVO's interior is crap... and the 2005 STi has a nicer interior and a stereo .

They are all good cars, I would take the R32 if it had xenon lights.

With my love for xenon lights, I'd take the Subaru!

Get the R32 if you want to start replacing parts on the car.

The other two have true WRC production cars. All the parts are more robust.

EVO RS if money is an issue. Bascially a stripped down version of the VIII, but still kicks ass.

Evo is a little too turbo happy. Not a great daily driver and I just hate the looks of the damn thing. Looks a bit too much like the 10k car that it is based on

R32, great daily car, handles great but will get left in the dust by the other 2 in a straight line. Nicest interior of them all. Heard it is axed next year so may be a problem getting one

STI rocks. I am really considering one of those as well. Like the looks, interior is okay. Not great but nicer than the evo. Torque is fantastic

damn, the s2k would of been the best choice, too bad he cant get that. If he wants st8 up handles, the evo wins. Get the MR edition and itll out handle the sti and r32 big time. Stock powerwise the sti wins but with a few minor mods the evo will be equal or surpass. The r32 i think is the best if you want, a little bit of power, handles and interior. So that would be the best middle car. Sti if you want the stock power and a little better interior. Evo if you want pure preformence with no interior.

sti dynos a little less than the evo. many mags and people have proven this. Subaru overated the sti by a lil, while mitsu underated the evo a lil. r32 is cool, wish it were a turbo though.

There are kits for the R32 that help it outrun the Enzo!

I'm sure you can chip the R32 and get a lot more horsepower, like any other VW/Audi. But, I would get the Sti cause...well...it's really sexy.

EVO 8-MR

Haven't seen the actual performance specs. Waiting to get my copy of the new Best Motoring Video, which they perform the test of the new MR against its rivals.

I heard it may even be quicker than the STI.

If you want pure performance and don't care about the other stuff. My suggestion would be the EVO 8-MR. Second choice would be the STI

Yeah I read the C/D and it has a positive artical on the EVO-8MR. I think its the meanest looking car out of the three. But the STI has more power and for some reason I trust subaru more than mitsubishi. what do you guys think? the better company.

I got into it with a r32, I was stopped at a light and I didnt see him pull up next to me on the right...frankly I was messing with my NAVI. Anyway these two lanes merge into 1 about 1/8 mile up the road so you dont want to be stuck behind captn slow ass. I still havnt even paid attention to whats next to me so I figure I would just lay into it a llittle to make sure I got ahead. As soon as the light turned green I heard him open it up so I did the same. At first I thought it was Joe fat tail pipe but it sounded way to exotic. Mean while I'm trying to see what I'm up against and not paying attention and hit the rev limiter in 1st....ugly he still wasnt pulling that far ahead even with my f up once I rowed into 2nd he still wasnt completely by me and I got off it because one of us was going into on comming traffic and would have most likely been me. Anyway the R32 sounds like freakin 911 on roids...awsome. I think if we were at the track I would have shut off VSA popped it at 5000 RPM and we would have been neck and neck. Anyway neat car but $30 G's for a VW I dont think so and knowone has to climb into my back seat.

Why not an S2000 and why does he need AWD in Philly? I live 10 minutes from there and its not like the weather is terrible. If he wants AWD for the winter, none of those cars are going to do very well. They are all high HP sports cars.

Besides I've beaten all of those cars in my S/C S.

Sorry for the ignorance guys, what is this R32 you are talking about?

Because if it's the VW Golf HPA R32... look down

With the stage two package this little beast will leave ferrari's, porches and some street bikes in it's dust.. 580torque and 540 hp!! 3.2sec 0-60, four wheel drive....what else could you want ? besides luxury, of course..

AWD on the STi isn't about driving in the snow, it's about 0-30 in 1.2 seconds.

STI, but the evo would be nice, and I like the look of the r32, but if he is looking for a good car with nice handling, s2k would be nice, but also, rx-8 with its 50-50 ratio balance thingy or a 350z.....
