i just noticed this problem and i am sure it is related.
my 99 es with 98,000 stalled the other day when it was placed into gear.

noprblem i started it back up and took off, the car was cold, i attributed it to a cold car, but unusual for a lexus.

so this morning i was driving to work and was going about 55 on a highway, on a clean patch but the car bucked as i was at speed, not accelerating.

i let off and it stopped.

there are no engine codes so i am looking for help, it is prob just a sensor.

i did have the maf sensor replaced replaced a year ago and i have not replaced my sparkplugs yet.

regular oil changes, air filter is fine.

i have the fuel filter at home to change.

i have worked on these toyotas

did it buck when changing a gear? Did the RPMS go up but nothing happened?

no gear change, same gear, same rpms

Sounds like an engine problem. I agree with your initial thought of a sensor. Make sure there are no pending codes. Generic OBD II scanners probably can't check for that.

maybe i will short jump the diagnosis in the engine compartment to see if there is anything else
