This weekend I was pretty bored so I decided to test drive the Evo and SRT-4. The Evo was the first one I drove. I am lost for words for that car. I really couldn't push it the way I wanted because the dealer was a little old and scared, but I fell in love with it. After that I test drove the SRT-4 It felt like a pice of shit compared to the EVo. The dealer was a guy around the same age as me so I was able to beat the hell out of it. I am posotive it will kick my 3.0's ass, but compared to the Evo it was a waste of time. :thumbsdn:

 

A friend of mine drove the EVO, STI and 350Z. Bought the 350. Said that the EVO felt like shit, too plasticy and the spoiler was like flapping above 90 mph on the highway. The STI was better, but the 350 felt much more solid, nicer interior and drives like its on rails. EVO and STI are good for one thing, speed and racing. They really don't even look that nice. The SRT can't hang with any of them. It is still a whack ass neon, but with a turbo. Looks like a wind up toy, like the above, only good for speed and racing.

 

The SRT 4 is one of those deals where you've just have to have something fast but dont have a lot of money to work with. As for the Evo and STi, what can I say? They're purpose built cars with a limited purpose. I cant imagine those two lasting more than a couple more model years before being discontinued. IMO, the base WRX and even 2.4L Lancer are pretty competent peformers in their own rite.

As I scan through different message board forums, I've noticed that many folks have traded in their EVOs and STIs for TLs and G35s. It really is hard to justify $30G+ on the EVO/STi when a nicely equipped G35 and TL, with a slight sacrifice in performance.

I agree...Once you get into a certain price range..you gotta have luxury. I really want to test drive one though. Though everything will be faster than my 2.3 auto.

 

I will never sacrafice luxury for speed that's just me. My big thing is I am just tired of people talking about thier piece of shit Neon like it is the best thing since pants with pockets.
