SPOTTED: Red GT-R in Tempe, AZ
* Note: I did post this in the GT-R thread, just thought for those who don't look there this might be of interest. Mods delete if you feel it's a double post.
On my way home from the gym last night I spotted a red GT-R with manufacturer plates on the Loop 101 southbound. I didn't notice him until I was already passing. Luck would have it he ended up getting behind me and got off my exit. I let him pass me going to the light and I snapped a few pictures. I kept the flash off so it wouldn't be so obvious that I was taking photos of the car so they're kind of dark and the second one I had to make black and white due to the color being thrown way off by lightening it up in Photoshop. We sat next to each other at the light. He was fiddling around with the dash computer. The light turned green and I captured the last picture of him taking off at a decent clip. That car has such a distinctive sound to it along with the super quick shifts. It was beautiful. It did appear to be slightly dirty and it had black tape over the Nissan and GT-R logo. I'm suspecting he had been testing it out at Canyon Lake in Apache Junction where they do a lot of pre-release mountain driving/testing. Anyway... enjoy.

Thanks, guys. I'm always looking for pre-released cars because I've spotted so many around here. I spotted the new gen Altima going to work one morning, two Caliber's were being tested up around Canyon Lake one Sunday afternoon and I spotted a Cherokee SRT-8 on the way home from work one evening, all before they were available in showrooms. It's a pretty cool feeling seeing a car on the road before most people get to see them. If I could only find out where all those secret desert test tracks were, that would be flip'n sweet.

2nd GT-R Spotted in Mesa, AZ!!!
My fiancée and I decide to go to lunch at the Cracker Barrel down the street from home in Mesa this afternoon. I start searcing for a parking space and all the sudden I spot this silver GT-R with Michigan manufacturer plates and plenty of open parking spaces next to it. It's like it was just waiting to be photographed by my spy camera! Try your hardest to not to drool too much over that sweet red Accord coupe parked next to it and focus on the GT-R. I know it's gonna be hard. Enjoy.
What could be better than a Saturday afternoon, Cracker Barrel and a GT-R?
I sure hope that oil spot on the pavement is old.
Looks like these puppies have been working hard lately.
I don't know how anyone can say this car is ugly. GT-R
Huge gold Brembos + tons of brake dust FTW!!!
Imagine seeing this in your rear view mirror?
Whaaaa? An auto??? Jeeze, even the Accord parked next to it is a 6 speed manual.
Sitt'n pretty.
A little vent action going on.

Again nice catch! I might be asking the obvious for some, but I'm still wondering why the GT-R is such a quick car. It might be due to the 3.8 liter 480 horsepower engine, but I mean the torque is not earth-moving by any means. I'm aware that there is an incredible amount of technology that went into it...

I've read that the 480hp is actually way underrated from Nissan. Again, it's speculation, but I've heard it's really pushing 500hp+. But yeah, the technology is incredible. Some purist think it's too much and it's not really a drivers car because it does most of the work for you.
