Spotted: Porsche GT

I was walking through the infield tunnel at the Glen yesterday before the start of the IRL race when a seal gray GT comes through before I could get my camera ready. Damn, talk about big ass tires! That thing was beautiful.

I desperately want to see one in person.

It's the only supercar I haven't seen in person yet.

Yeah Shoofin, Carrera GT--gorgeous. My brother who is somewhat car stooopid, sez "What the hell is that?" thinking it was a Ferrari at first (close).

That car is my unicorn. I've never seen one, I barley missed one at the Ferrari dealership. They said "We had a Carrera GT in this morning, you just missed it!"

THey showed me the Enzo in the back though

There are a bunch in my area, there never were too many supercars around here untill this past year, i guess its because the CGT is pretty much the only supercar you can get serviced in MN, everything else you have to send to a shop that isnt ferrari/lambo certified or you gotta send it to chicago.. i dont know what color i like more, they look amazing in every color!

My rich uncle has one.

He had to purchase 3 other ones just to qualify.

I'm serious.

no, he's never given me a dime.

I saw one too, it was yellow, sounded sick as hell. It was on labor day, and it was zooming by UCLA. Sick sight indeed.

You're thinking of the Ferrari Enzo, and that wasn't true for that car either. Yes, having Ferraris in your automobile portfolio helped your chances of being selected, but you didn't *have* to own a Ferrari previously. I could go order a Carrera GT right now if I had the money, you only have to "qualify" for a loan.

Actually, to buy the enzo at MSRP and from the dealer, you had to be a previous owner. At first you had to of owned a F40 or F50. But now, anyone can go buy one, you just gotta pay a million +

and yes, anyone can go buy a CGT, and there are a TON available cause they are selling like shit

No I'm not. I've been to his garage, I've driven the GT3, Targa, and his convertible. He owned a Targa, and had to buy more to get "in." He actually told me if I come out again (17 mile drive area), that I can drive the GT. He did give me a ride.

But he won't give me a dime.

Either you were lied to or he was. You didn't have to buy anything to get the Carrera GT. He may have done so to get his name earlier on the list, but like I said, I've never bought a Porsche before and I could go buy a CGT from the dealer right now.

Maybe, but that's what he told me and the rest of us drooling nephews.

We are still blown away by this. His cars before he purchased the '97 Targa (b-day gift from Grandpa). Were a Ford 15 passenger van, an old 70's Benz 450sl, and that's about it.
