So Scott was in a car accident just now...
First of all, he's fine physically. But the guy rear-ended him, causing Scott to rear-end the guy in front of him, which resulted in a bunch of damage to both ends of his car. He said his headlights are popped out, his trunk won't close and has a "huge" gash in it, but I don't know what else is wrong. The other two cars weren't damaged at all.
Anyway, the kicker is that the guy who hit him is his COUSIN. They weren't together at the time; it's totally random that they happened to be at the same intersection. In the 5 years we've lived here, I've never run into any of his family members randomly on the road. What are the ODDS?

frame damage = very bad. either it woudl be unsafe to drive on teh roads, or would be too costly to repair.
It might not be too bad though. aren't there like 100k+ miles on the GTO already from all those roadtrips you potheads take?

Look, his car is not totalled. I know my husband, if his precious GTO was totalled, he'd still be at the intersection on his knees, sobbing up towards the heavens, "WHY!?!?!?!" :shakehead
Extensive repair, yes. Totalled? No. I doubt it. If it IS totalled, insurance will kick in. If it's a few thousand bucks, his cousin will cough it up.

Not sure if there is frame damage, but the rear bottom of the trunk is definately where the middle of the trunk use to be. We'll see, i've got a great bodyshop that'll do the work, you guys have probably seen them numerous times on Overhaulin

Hope you don't have frame damage. I once had frame damage repaired on a car and its never the same. Plus I had a shit load of mechanical problems after that. Engines and stuff stuck to engines don't like to be shaken the way accidents shake them.
Glad you are okay.

It good the hear is okay. That is the most important thing as cars can be replaced, but not scott. Anyway, tell scotts cousin to learn how to drive (keep distance, etc.) and now for the smiliy

Sorry to hear that Scott.
If the frame damage isn't that bad then getting the car perfect again isn't a problem with a good shop. (and Lanzini's defiantly qualifies)
I did that to my 94 accord and the shop got the frame absolutely strait. It was on the rack for a day but the car was perfect after that.

If you go to a good shop, the fram can be straighened out if they know what they are dealing with. I just hope that is is not so bad that it has to be cut off and rewelded like my cousins civic was. (he rear ended a truck at night in the rain going about 60 on the highwayneeded to get everything from the front of the rear passenger door forward replaced)

I highly doubt there is frame damage, regardless i'm confident my body shop will make it new again. Damage isn't THAT bad, just annoying.

Here are the pics, it's really not that bad, the rear quarters buckled out a good amount and the quarters are just straight out of alignment, the trunk got crushed in a good amount.
Here you can see how the rear quarters buckled
and the trunk bent up pretty good
here you can tell how the trunk buckled so I can't get the spare out
And the front made out pretty good, still some gap issues, and a new front fascia
