So I went to the dealer today...
So my Dad wanted to lease a car for a friend, so he decides to get a Toyota. He goes to the dealership and sees the Rav4, so I come over to sign the lease agreement and to take the car home.
As I was signing the papers I saw their print out of how much money the dealer gets in profit from the sale, my eye wanders a lot and I was able to see it. On the print out is a list of the breakdown on the price of the vehicle, it shows how much markup they put on the vehicle, dealer charges (bullshit fees to gain them more profit), and then it had a total of their profit from the sale. Lmao on a Rav4 they markedup the price by 3,100.
The cost of the Rav4 is 19,000 before markup, they raised the price by 1/6th, well that didn't bother me because I wasn't at a positition to debate since my Credit Score was only 650 and I have a light credit report.
Anyway that doesn't matter, what matters is when I go see the car, it was complete crap. This car had 27 miles, and its paint is awful, it was black, and you could see so many swirl marks, it looks like someone dried the car off with a dirty towel. Every car we own has better looking paint, this car is not even a year old and it looks like ass crack. Not only that but I have no idea how any human can be comfortable sitting in the drivers seat, its cramped and the seating positions are very limited and hard to adjust.
For a payment of 370 a month over 5 years, I say I would pay the extra 200 dollars and get something a whole lot better. I want to take a trip to the dealer tomorrow and complain about the paint we'll see what they say.

whoa whoa whoa.
1. You leased a car for someone else?
2. Please tell me $370 is not the lease price
3. You still can haggle the price of the car on a lease no matter what your credit score is
4. Why did you even take delivery of a car thats dirty
5.
Holy crap, I have some stained underwear that i can sell to you for $400.

Well by the time I came to the dealer, terms and agreements were already established, besides with my weak credit there was very little wiggle room, we tried our best for a good deal, and its not that easy to make the dealer budge when they know how much you make.
The accounts of the story and explaining my fathers poor decision making, not mine and to say how piss poor Toyota Rav4s are,

My Dad always does crap purchases, he did a lease on an '06 TL for 35,000 non navi, and that was in Nov. of '06 when the '07 models came out with the face lift. And of course his ass is to stubborn to listen to what I have to say, oh well.

Dang, so you guys leased a rav4 for 5 years at $370 a month?!?!
Also im pretty sure your credit score has nothing to do with the purchase price of the car. You could have still haggled that part. Only thing you might not have had room to change is the money factor.
Live and learn i guess. You better hope your dads friend pays this lease on time for the next 5 years. Or YOUR credit is screwed.

2. The bank closed by the time I arrived to the dealer so I'm not sure what the final terms were, but the lease terms that I read were roughly $370 a month, but my Dad said it was $325, we'll see when/if the bank agrees to the loan.
3. Well I thought and was told that with a lease they are really hard to budge and its almost impossible to bring them down.
4. By the time I was given the keys they were just about ready to close, like I said I'll let them know about it in the morning.

There are so many things wrong here. Eoanou, are you serious? You leased a car for your fathers friend to build up your credit? You could probably have had similar results by getting a department store credit card. Who is paying for the RAV4?
Credit score and income make no difference on the price of the car. Either you qualify for financing or you don't. Only difference would be the interest rate, not the price of the car.
and... you leased a $19,000 car for 5 years at $370/month? You should have been able to buy the car for less than that.

My CL-S payment was less than that, and it wasn't a lease. Did you shop around for auto loan interest rates to compare?
