Yeah, but then the weight distribution would be like the CL and the handling would go to crap....like the CL. Acura does not know weight distribution+FWD+V6.

Man this was a pretty good thread... nice pics, the attention to detail... Thank you, I have not had the chance to even look at a TSX yet, but I know that I would love to put a few features the TSX has into the CL..
1. The window down feature
2. Side View mirrors

Point taken there. If the new Forrester XT is any indicator, the new Legacy GT should be one of the quickest sport sedans out there. And I wont even go into the STi mods. -----> Legacy B4!!

i have to confess, i've got intentions of trading/selling the CL for either the GT sedan or wagon. i've got a MY99 GT sedan (N/A of course) sitting in my driveway already, so i might be going with the wagon. nothing like hauling ass with your kid and all your gear in a sleeper.

And I thought I was the only retard considering a sports wagon to replace my current ride.

While I've posted that I'm considering a TL, G35S and cert used 540i as a replacement for my Maxima, I'll pull the trigger on an 05 Legacy GT Wagon or Volvo V70R so long as the price is VERY agreeable. (I saw a SHARP looking V70R yesterday.) And both wagons may be quicker than the sedans I just mentioned.

Nothing like hauling arse with a cargo area full of bulk shopping items.

I gave in and went for it. I need a car by Friday so I just put a deposit on an 04 TSX with Navi (Carbon Grey/Ebony). Final price was $28,000 plus tax, tags, etc.
Hopefully it'll be here by Friday. Dealer knows I'm on a rental so he said they'd give me a loaner to drive around till the car comes if it's not ready by Friday AM
I gotta admit, I quickly got used to driving it. The 4-cyl engine is enough to haul my skinny ass around town for now. It's got everything I need as far as safety and gadgets.

I'll never understand why people buy the TSX instead of a V6 Accord. It's faster, cheaper and a bigger car.

Totally different type of package Tom. Though the AV6 is quicker in a straightline (mainly the AV6 6MT), the TSX is definitely sportier.

Because the TSX is a totally different car. And not everyone wants a bigger car. And not everyone needs a V6.

Congrats on the purchase. What dealer did you go through?

Oh yeah and, Carbon Grey is the HOTTEST color you could have gotten. Great choice.

I didn't get to post the dealer earlier because it was in the pic of the sticker so I figured people would see it... It's Radley in Falls Church. I've now bought two Acuras from Al Gavri there and I can definitely recommend them. Al is a really cool laid back guy.
I still rather go to Pohanka in Chantilly for service though.

And thanks to everyone for all your comments and suggestions, tons of useful info as usual

Unfortunately, I didnt get a pic of the motor or the spec board. IMO, the K24 should see more mod availability than the K20 mainly due to the numerous application of this motor (Accord, TSX, Element & CRV). $.02

no i meant throw a k20 head on the k24 block, and turboing that . or just stroke it to 2.7L turbo, thatd be nice... also tsx+mugen bodykit=

Also, I could be wrong, but I don't believe you can add headers to that engine because it's integrated into the block (like the 04 TL). I drive a 03 Accord EX I4, so I know the engine fairly well.

It's a great engine for what it is, but it's still not very powerful. It's great for a 4-cylinder, but it's still a 4 cylinder in the end. I'd much rather have a TL personally.

Yer wrong....

K24A2 (TSX) - 3 cam lobes on intake and exhaust cams, and EGR porting (Performance VTEC)
K24A4 (Accord & Element) - 2 cam lobes on intake, 1 cam lobe on exhaust cams, EGR porting (Fuel Economy VTEC)

You have the k24a4....tsx has the k24a2.............VERY different.

I drove the Accord coupe V6. I have a problem with driving a car that looks like an egg. Other than that it's a nice car, but for the same cash I would rather go with the TSX. I'll need a bit of a larger car the next year or so. I could always trade it in after that for a 2006 CL The real plan is to keep this car a while as a commuter and if I want a real car in 1.5-2 years I'll get something else.
The TL is great but feels too big on me. Although acording to Edmunds, the CL is longer than the TL.

I had a '01 CL-S and went to the Acura dealership intent on getting the '04 TL but came out with the TSX instead. The TL felt too big and the TSX handles a lot better. The only thing I really wish I had in my TSX is the navigation system, which for same lame reason, isn't available on the Canadian TSX's :'(
