I'm lookin to get another car, trying to spend around 7-10k, any suggestions for something thats reliable and is economical. One thing i dont want is a hatchback of any sort, something like a corolla would be nice, any other suggestions for a car... i wanna garage my TL now while i get more work done to it..

Wrong forum. Also, buy a Civic. try to find a 1999 Si in Electron Blue Pearl.

Or buy an LX and save an ass load of money while getting 35mpg.

That's just one of the first few that popped up in my search on AutoTrader. Def your price range.

Save even more money, get an early 90's Accord. Very reliable and good on gas.

i'd agree w/ minch and say the 99-00 si, but everyone i've ever known that owned that car has gotton it stolen at least once (at least 4 or 5 different people).

I've heard integs are really fun to drive, but you might have some of the same theft problem. I've always loved the 4 door integs, cause it seems so much more rare than the coupes

A 4G Accord is definitely worthy of consideration. Although it may be tough finding one with decent mileage, they are out there.

I miss my 4th gen Accord (traded it in for my TLS). I still regret doing that ... that car was invincible ... had it for 10 years and no rust on the body (living in the Midwest / Southwestern Ontario salting every winter) !!!

I go over to the TAC (Toronto Accords Club) and see the occasional 4th gen on sale ... makes me want to buy that as a beater but I don't have the garage space.

My opinion on a beater ... Civic DX or 4th gen Accord. You will have plenty of money leftover for any repair work required if 7-10k is your budget.

4G Accord as well. Maybe even a 94 or 95 if you can.

Avoid Integras, they're expensive to insure, I'd know I had a GS-R 4 door.

If you're willing to spend up to 10k, look for a 03+ Ford Taurus...

Not sure why there's such animosity towards the Taurus...its actually a decent car for about $10k...

Now for the morons who bought 'em new in the past, not sure what was wrong w/em...

I wouldn't even get used. Ket a Kia or Hyandai. A new one can be had for around $10K, you get a very long warranty & gas milage in the 30's

on the Accord over compacts like the Civic or Corolla. You will sorely miss your TL's power when you're driving either econoboxes.

I'm not sure if you'll really save that much money by garaging a 5 year old TL but you can get a new Aveo for ~ $9K.

you can copy off my idea (even though you don't need the AWD in TX), and get a used Subaru. I picked up a higher mileage '99 Legacy last November for around $6k, needed a tranny and new belts, but hasn't given me any problems since (there was another one retailing for around $8k at the time, so I ended up still under that amount w/ the used tranny w/ 50k miles on it)
