So the Accord and the F150 needed........
.....to be traded in.. The accord had some issues to the tune of about 4-5k that I didn't want to put into it. The car had over 100k and I really didn't enjoy driving it at all. It was an impulse buy that I have regretted making since I bought it. I convinced the wife to let me get rid of it. So here is a picture of when I first got the Accord. It didn't look any different when I got rid of it except for window tint.
The Accord was replaced with this. A 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited RWD 4.7 V-8.. She has about 75k on her now. ABout 68k when I bought it. All said and done, my payment was less than that of the Accord, so it was a win/win. The person that had it before me kept great care of it and it had all of the records. It will tie me over for a few years till the spawn starts to drive ()
The F-150 was a great truck. It was nearing 100k so we made the decision to get rid of it before that. It was a lariat 5.4L. Our primary traveling vehicle. Which is the other reason we wanted to get rid of it. We are planning two road trips within the next year. One to Cali and one to Canada. We needed a vehicle that we could depend on.
Here is the truck that we moved on from.
This is what we moved on too. (But the wife is going to drive it everyday )
First new vehicle I have ever purchased.. A little buyers remorse because of the payment, but it is what it is. We're making it happen. This truck is so bad ass.
2013 Ford F-150
5.0L V-8
Lariat Package
Sterling Package (whatever that is)
Black Leather
Heated/Cooled Seats
Nav
Sony Stereo w/sub
295/60/20 Tires
Not sure if it is lifted or a leveling kit. I see about a 2-3" block in the rear suspension, but dont really know what to look for up front. (New to this whole big truck thing),
HID Lights
Push Bumper with PIAA lights.
Rear Camera.
Etc etc etc..
All at the cost of about 15 gallons to the mile.
There is no bedliner so I am looking into that as well as exhaust. The engine note sounds bad ass and I can't wait to get something on there to make it sound that much meaner....
Anyways.. Just wanted to get some pictures up.

Both are great looking vehicles, congrats! So that truck came with all the aftermarket stuff on it? Did they rape you on it? I have to ask because I feel that dealers put a sunroof deflector on a car and charge you 3 times what it is worth, those upgrades look pricey when you do them yourself so I can't imagine the dealer (yes, you can finance them but that just means you paid even more )

But that's what the bed it for. Rocks, logs, cement blocks, boards, brush, equipment, etc. Having a truck that has a used bed shows that you use the truck as a truck and not a car.
I can't imagine every going to buy a truck, looking at the bed, and saying, "deals off. There's too many scratches in there." Maybe I just grew up in a different environment.

But those scratches in the bed can and will rust too...so it's more than just for aesthetics (bedliner). I guess growing up in a farming/logging community, your bed being beat up is kind of a badge of honor? The only way I wouldn't line the bed is if I had a 50's Ford truck with the wood for a bed. Then again, those are gorgeous and I'd likely not use it for utility work either...

Scratches/rust mostly. Rust in a bed might not turn you off from a vehicle, but when you plan on keeping a truck for awhile and using it as it's intended, a rusted bed is an eyesore.. A spray-in bedliner protects against that and you can beat the shit out of it and it doesn't look any different.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I have never seen rust in a bed. It's all good, I just never understood them. My Tundra came with a bed liner since it was used, so I do have one. I just wouldn't buy one.
Anyway, sorry to go OT sort of. Nice truck again. It's nice to know that they are starting to put projectors into trucks now.

Fuel Mavericks 20"
I kind of want to get rid of them.. I want to get something black.
It's not that I don't. There are plenty of guys that I work with that have F-150's with over 200k. There was something up with the 5.4 in the old one. If you were on the freeway doing freeway speeds and went to pass someone, you would put your foot into it and the truck would literally go no where. It would shift, but nothing else. It would even sputter at times.
I took it into the place where I bought it and they replaced the throttlebody (not covered by the after market warranty ) to the tune of about 600 bucks. That was a bandaide fix..
On top of that, the transmission would also shift pretty hard at times... I wasn't too worried about the tranny and I know the warranty would have covered that.. It was more about the throttle part that I scared me and I didn't want to keep dumping money into it in hopes that it got fixed.
Move to Texas and her needs to have a Prius may go by the wayside, when she sees all the big ass trucks with big ass grill guards.
I'll take some this weekend and get them up.
The cooled seats will def. be nice on hot days with black interior. I couldn't believe how cold they got..
If that were the case, I should have left years ago..
Thank you.
