Snow Tires - Diameter 5% larger than OEM

Hi all,

I am looking at getting snow tires and my friend is selling a set of his with the steel wheels. The bolt pattern matches and all but the overall diameter is 5% larger or about an inch larger. Should I consider it or will this ruin my ride somehow? I do know the speedo will be off by 3mph or so on the hwy.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What size are you running now, and what size are the new ones?

On that car as long as the same size ones are on the same ends of the car you wont have a problem. A newer car with TCS or Stability control i wold probably say no to.

i'd say fine on a new one as well as long as the diameter is the same all the way around
