Snap-On Screwdriver Shift Knob M/T

I was too busy thinking if I could do this, vs if I should. This idea was inspired by a friend of a friend who is a S15 drift fanatic in Japan. The person has a few S15's, and even competes with a fully built S15 dream drift car. His shift knob of choice is a... Snap On Screwdriver handle. I have read that in Japan Snap-On did sell a threaded M/T knob, but they were few and far apart and there is almost no data on the topic. After sending photos of cool knobs I had purchased to the person, all were inferior to the Snap-On, so I said F it, we'll do it live! Take your time, wear safety glasses. I'm not responsible if you hurt yourself. Here is how I made one:

Tools:

M10x1.50 Tap with handle
11/32 drill bit
Drill
Vise
Crowbar or nail puller end on a hammer

I used this screwdriver - The T8, T15, and maybe T20 use a smaller handle where as T25+ use a bigger handle. Too big for this project. Look at torx sets provided by snap on to compare, they have measurements. https://store.snapon.com/Standard-So...r-P646629.aspx

Getting started:

This one I don't have a photo of so here is one from another forum. Put the driver side in a vice and pull the handle upward using a crowbard or nail puller side of a hammer. Take your time.

When finished, you will have this:

Drill into the center of the handle, make sure to be as dead center as possible. This black material is very hard and is crucial for the project. The finished product will look like this:

Get ready to tap. I'm sure I did this wrong in some aspect. Instructional videos show the object on a vice, however these items were steel/metal. We're dealing with plastic here so I did it by free hand. Choose which ever method you prefer.

Finished product:
