SLR Maclaren spotted

I work at a very high class private golf course in Toronto and as I walked through the parking lot I spotted this very rare SLR. A few weeks ago my friend told me that the member's son was showing it off to his friends at the club but I found it very hard to believe that it was actually a SLR; but man was I pleasantly mistaken. This thing is truly a work of art to see in person, and it was music to my ears as the guy drove off. I'm not to fond of the body styling; I'd personally take a SL65 AMG instead. Sorry for the crappy pic, damn early model camera phone.

If I remember the article in our local paper correctly (Windsor Star), there were 20 alotted to Canada. Of those, can you believe there are 3 (three) SLR's in Windsor? I have yet to see one up close (ie saw one in passing) but to think ... they spent C$100,000 in taxes (15%) to own one. That's the cost price of an S-class!!! That is sheer insanity.

BTW, that's a pretty good pic coming from a camera phone.

Those things are sick. I saw a few in early May at the Wachovia Open in Charlotte. They even had one on display. It was roped off, but you could get within arms reach of it. The doors and hood were open, and man, was it hot!! Guess Mercedes was a major sponsor of the tourney. Anyway, sick rides....

jaguar XK isn't even that expensive. the rest are exotics, but even those are a dime a dozen in orange county.

They aren't that rare, there's at least 3 of them in Toronto. including a black one.

There's also a certain building downtown with 2 Carrera GT's, one Silver, one Yellow....

Oakdale Golf and Country Club, located at Jane/Sheppard, and home to the richest and cheapest Jewish people in Toronto. But a lot of them are really good people I must admit.

I saw a brand new Lambo this weekend as well, (in Markham of all places, for you Toronto folks).

And last night in Yorkville I saw a Ferrari 430, a new Porsche 911, and 2 Maseratis. Massr1, Yorkville is def the place to find exotics. Given that the new condos right on Yorkville Ave. are"From 2.7 million to 10 million" this is not surprising. (10 Million for a condo? Give me a fuckn break. But I digress. )

Yep, Yorkville's the place to be, a lot of the members are from there and I wouldn't be suprised if they owned a few of those condos.
