Slow Accords

Why are the 2005 Accords so slow? With that HP you would think they would be faster. I guess they need more low end torque.

Slow?

Care to back that up?

0-60 in the 6 to 7 second range is quite fast for a family car.

As for torque, those J30 engines have quite a fat torque curve and good gear ratios. Dont know what you're talking about

An 05 Accord 6-spd coupe will smoke your TL.

You need to read up.

good luck guys, already kicked a new 2005 accord. Friend of mine was talking trash allnight we started from lights and my Tl pulled half a car length right from the start. I took it up to 120km and looked over my shoulder and started laughing. I don't even have good tires.

Don't V6 accords do 7 seconds 0-60 and low 15s in the 1/4 mile?
Why would a "low" end honda model be able to beat honda's luxury equivalent?
I know TL-s can own any accord. Even the V6 coupes. Probably not the TL-Ps...

Are we talking about the coupe? Didn't someone run a 13.9 with just an intake and slicks? I'd like to see a TL do that.

The V6 Accord sedans are pretty fast but are not fast enough to outrun it's uglyness.

5.9 0-60 for a 6spd 240HP sounds about right, but whoever drove during that run knows how to shift perfectly. I think that is a little low but possible. I beleive 6.3 0-60 is more realistic which falls right in line with a AT TL-S. The AT V6 accord would get beat easily by a TL-S. A TL-P w/headers woudl beat a AT V6 accord which supposedely does 0-60 in 6.7 secs which is what 00-03 TL-p's run. Add headers and you win easily. Shit my 99 tl-p w/headers and k&n filter beat a '04 Maxima a few weeks ago(I know a lot of you don't beleive me still)! The point the V6 accords are fast, but not faster than our TL's(except the 6spd, but that's not fair because we don't have the pleasure of a 6spd).

are we taling second or third gen? Cause i'm pretty sure a third gen auto could edge out an accord V6 auto. And a third gen 6spd would probably run neck and neck with a coupe 6spd?

Definitely 2nd gen TL. He had a 2000 TL, so I was going by that in his reference to racing an Accord.

yeah, a second gen TL defeintely couldm't handle an 06 coupe. But on the other hand, i'd have to say that an 03 accord V6 auto would probably run neck and neck with a second gen TL-P.

noooope

The '03 Accord V6 has a (underrated) 240 hp and weighs a bit less (100 or 200 pounds or so) than a TL-P

Take my word on it. I got an '03 TL-P even though I loved the '03 Accord more at the time. It was the AWFUL exterior of the Accord that convinced me to get a TL-P

hahaha wow Ken is really pissed eh? Thats kinda sad especially when we drive the same car. You clown Ken, get a life you know nothing about cars and just hate on someone that is talking the truth. Hahahahah maybe you should buy a 2nd gen. or something faster so you would know for yourself. Instead of banning me for talking facts in the off topic car talk forum, you should do some research yourself and realize that I do have more low end torque and that thats why I jumped out a half car in front.... Hahahaha you hater buy a new car hahaha

Care to be banned again?

As for my facts, they're correct. An '03 Accord V6 is faster than a '99-'03 TL-P.
