Nice write up man. It's great to know someone actually notices all these little things in the car. I work with two guys who have 335i's and I guarantee neither one of them notices anything other than the BMW badge on the hood and rear. Great choice in mods, too.

Sweet. They are one of the best looking cars on the road today. I was sitting behind one the other day and I told my wife that I felt that BMW got it 100% right with the design of them.

Props to you.

DPE S-20, matte black. Same as Jesal's, 3-piece etc, just different design/finish.

Thanks.

Sorry to hijack your thread Jesal, you asked for it!

Nice pics, guys. The 335i is a beast ... I wish they had a 6MT at my dealership ... took the 5AT out on a test drive and it was wickedly fast. Handled brilliantly and was fine in traffic but in another tread, my only real pet peeve is an odd pause when first pressing the gas in stop-and-go traffic. Too quiet to hear the engine / exhaust, IMHO. Guess BMW is turning less "raw" and more "luxury".

I like the direction BMW is heading ... just the iDrive is something for me to become accustomed to. Guess my Japanese import fanboy-ness is impeding my ability to embrace the Teutonic way of car electronic gadgetry.

Weird since the exhaust tone on the e92 is much louder than my E46 was. Stock vs stock.

Sedans arent as loud if thats what you drove, i also didnt like the auto for the exact reason you mentioned.

fwiw, with the auto you can eliminate that delay by putting it in DS. I know, annoying. Was the one you drove a sedan? I find the coupes are actually pretty loud considering it's supposed to be a "lux" car. Of course mine is like a thousand cars being thrown into a blender... piece of shit exhaust.

Man, I love that 3-series coupe, I just can't stand the interior (plus I need a 4-door). Probably gonna end up with the IS350.....

I'm in Toronto. Let me know if you're ever in town, I am easily convinced for beers.

IS350 is a nice car. I am not a huge fan of the e90, tbh. I do, however, like the e90/e92 interior. The design of the IS is better, but as I mentioned in another thread the material quality is not.

Jesal, How is the comfort access? Do you have to insert the key into a slot and then press the start button? I'm not very educated on BMW's versian of keyless entry.
I'm a little late, just found this write-up, but very nice review, and glad you're enjoying the car.

You don't have to insert the key into the slot with comfort access.

I got a question for all you 3-series owners:

on your car, do you ever a hear a buzzing noise around the front wheels? this happens with the engine off for over 15 minutes

anyone have a clue?

Fan cooling the engine down after hard driving? But it only last a few minutes after the engine is off.

doesn't sound like a fan noise at all. it's localized at the front wheels and it's not a constant buzzing...it'll last a couple of seconds then stop for a few and then again for a couple of seconds.

just wondering if it's supposed to do that or should I be bringing it into service.

Yep, happens to my car every time I shut it off. It isn't a fan, more like something hydraulic; might be the steering wheel lock or something.

The E9x vehicles have electric water pumps and on the 335 the pump stays on after you turn to the car off to help the turbos cool down and prevent the oil from coking. Its possible your hearing the pump running.
