Dude, the Suzuki was already making rounds at the auto shows (in concept form, at least) before the MDX was even released.

I always thought the MDX ripped off the Audi Q7 rear....

See how silly it is to compare? They all look alike to me....

The Q's rear is better IMO, the MDX looks like it's frowning

I actually just saw the new MDX on the road. It doesn't look as bad as it does in the pics.

I see no resemblance between the XL-7 and the MDX.

But there are trends in the auto industry. Companies will follow those trends and inevitably come out with similar-looking designs. And at the same time, everybody copies off of each other, too.

You accuse Suzuki of copying off of MDX, but the MDX looks like a carbon copy of the Audi Q7 from the rear. And how do you think Honda and Acura became successful? In fact, how do you think the entire country of Japan revived itself after the World War II? They copied off of everybody they saw fit, then one day they started improving upon those copies and came out with better products at a cheaper price.

It's pointless to point fingers saying who copied whom. In the end, you're running in circles, anyway.

Suzuki sells cars very well as far as I know. The new Swift is a sales hit in Europe as was it's predecessor. Having owned a Swift GTi I can only say that quite a few other car makers should have a slice of the quality we found in that little car. My ex-gf drove the car to well over 200.000 miles and other than normal maintenance did nothing except replace the heater core (by herself no less) at 215 K miles.

Gotta say the Suzuki really looks nothing like the MDX other then the fact it's an SUV.

I was actually coming in here to say that Audi should be pissed at Acura for trying to copy the rear of the Q7, but Jesal beat me to it. However, my statement still stands

They look similar, from the front 3/4 view. Not really at all from the rear. From the front - check out the bulges on the wheel arches (arguable since lots of vehicles have that), the design of the rearmost side-window and body panel arch angles thereof, and the headlights share similar (odd) angles. The grill and front sections, .

meh! A similar argument can be made regarding the the CX7 and Murano to some degree. Honestly (and as Phile posted above), I also saw the new Suzuki before the MDX so, if anything........ For the record, neither one can hold a candle to the Q7.

100% I just saw a few at Bridgewater Acura on Tuesday and they look TONS better in person. The pics above make the MDX appear like a bloated RDX, which it definitely is not in person.

I hope that's true... b/c from the pics I've seen it's horrible and yes, it looks like a bloated (in appearance and price) RDX. Being that I don't commute it may be a while before I see one on the road though

You go food shopping? Youre bound to see one in the parking lot. So far I've seen only one on the road, but I expect the sighting will increase in the coming months. IMO, it looks smaller on the road than the old model, but I know it's actualy bigger.

Once in a while. The wife usually handles that though. The odds are if I do run across one it will be either in the BJ's parking lot or in our community...
