Selling a leased car???

Has anyone ever tried to sell your leased car by just asking for whatever the buyout value is at that given time?

Why would you go through all the trouble?

It's sold the same way as a fianced car. Get the buyout & get someone to pay you that amount, pay the lease holder, get title in 1-2 weeks. How you go about the details is up to you & the buyer. There are several ways to go with it. IE-get the title sent to him, taxes etc.

Can also try www.leasetrader.com

Usually the payoff they tell you is with taxes included...If you plan on having a dealer buy the car, ask them what the dealer payoff is, which is before taxes. It makes a difference that could make or break a deal!

For a lease, payoff is not with tax. Since tax is added to each lease payment each month. Unless you pay tax up front.

Aren't these usually higher priced since there's a penalty?

There is no penality if you buy it out, or transfer the lease. The transfer option may have a fee though.
