Glad your daughter wasn't in the car, accidents are bad enough but when kids are in the car it takes it to another level. Glad to hear both you and your wife are ok.. Congrats on the new Audi, in for pics..

Just kidding (I hope) congrats on the new pickup. Tyler T's S4 is really fucking fast and a ton of fun, this should be no different!

So... I don't where to start as it's been quite the ride trying to close a deal on this particular car (B5 S4)... you guys wouldn't believe half the shit that's gone down if I told you.

In the meantime; as of yesterday at 3:02pm est to be exact, my newest family is on her 8 day journey home from California.

'01.5 B5 S4 w/ MTM Stage 2 tune
- Original owner
- No accidents
- All - and I do mean ALL service records of work ever completed, original window sticker, manuals, brochures / magazines, and the list goes on... that dude kept everything!

The previous owner (81 yrs old) was a true enthusiast. He recently passed and his son / wife are now dealing with his affairs... they were really cool throughout the whole process. I assured them that the car will be well cared for.

From the pictures sent, the car in MINT condition for it's age; showing no real sign of wear as it's been well kept.

Any who, that's the short version of the story. I'll share the longer edit at a later date.

Tyler, J, and the rest of the GroupMe crew, thank you guys for helping out! :gheyhug:

The seller for that car backed out of the deal... one of many deals that didn't fall through.

This car is from California... as fun of a trip that would be, between the wife & munchkin, didn't make sense disappearing for a couple of days lol... so, it's being shipped here; currently on route.

I'm glad you ended up pulling the trigger on this one - looks absurdly clean!

Thorough records are a *must* when you buy a vehicle like this.

Oh and .. this is the only 8 day / 3000 mile road trip the car will ever take without breaking down

Would've been awesome no doubt, but, didn't want to disappear for a couple of days... no fun without the Mrs & munchkin.

Plans to visit FL anytime soon?

Indeed... going through all the paperwork, felt like I was going back in time in some way. He scribbled notes EVERYWHERE!

Yup, Sunday.

Just sent an email to the dispatch coordinator to ensure we're still on target.

Looking forward to having a man pedal again; been too damn long!

If I may make a recommendation, although you probably already know.
Please take your time inspecting the vehicle for damage before you sign off on the transport company.
Not sure you know, but the V came with roof damage caused by poor loading...they had it up top, last of the day, had me sign and scooted before I could really look her over.
They claimed I signed off and took no liability...luckily, the parent company that sub'd them coughed up the money to fix. Seller does a lot of business with them.

I literally decided if I ever buy sight unseen again, I'll set up a lawn chair in the grass near the drop off until I'm done. I'll even have little Coronitas waiting for the driver.

She's finally home; delivered yesterday.

For a 16 year old car, this thing will lay quite the can of whoop ass if disrespected

The torque from 3k on is just sick; I'm sure the tune is playing a huge role, but can't imagine it being less aggressive in stock form.

Didn't get a chance to snap much pics; our appliances decided to go on strike this weekend

Literally just got her bath a short while ago; more to come!

Look ma, no leaks!

Finally got a chance to head to the shop today.... and NO CODES!

Couple things to address though:
1) Passenger side ballast needs replacing, light is out; quick fix
2) Airbag light came on... I pushed the seat too far back and undid the cable; quick fix.
3) Hearing a slight knock when turning / taking speed bumps at a turn... we drove in circles trying to replicate the sound, we were successful. The UCAs & axles were recently changed, the LCA were not... not sure why, but, on the list for quick fix.

Aside from that, she's as clean as they come for being so old!

The cars pulls pretty hard; I'll upload vids later.

A stock looking engine bay is always a good sign with these cars, you picked up yourself one that hasn't been molested - that's for sure

Congrats again! Downpipes / exhaust ASAP, you Floridans don't do that smog thing ... pretty sure 20-30whp is being restricted on a Stage II tune with the stock exhaust.
