From SC TL-S to SC GTO

Since stopping on the TL-S I have been modding a 05 GTO 6m.
I picked up the car last Sept with 6,500 miles for 25K it is black with red interior. Since then here is a list of upgrades/mods:
- Magnuson SC with intercooler and magnavolt (similar to our E-manage) good for 13 lbs of boost (currently at 7 lbs.)
- Methanol injection
- CCW 19s(same as on the original orange Pontiac GTO prototype car)
BFG KDWs 245/35-19 R 275/30-19
- Hotchkis F/R sways
- New TEXT clutch, GMM RIP shifter, EP drive shaft + safety loop, cradle bushings and drag bags
- Mazziere electric pump
- Stainless Works headers w. Random HF cats and Corsa cat backs
- A.M. fuel pressure and boost (from the TL-S...yes the spirit lives on!!)
- HIDs

It has dynoed at 456whp 440 wtq. and my best ET is 11.99 @ 117.44 1.99 60'
Since the prior dyno and ET I've added the methonal and Mazziere pump. It should be at 490-500 whp and 480-485 tq 11.80 - 11.90s
With the methanol it is beastly...!!! (no new times or dyno yet)

Here are the parts that are waiting on install:
Catch can (helps keep things clean and detonation free)
New custom FTI cam ( good for 40-45 HP)
Light weight pullies w. over drive crank @ 2-3 more lbs. of boost total HP= 50-65
Port and Polished TB (good for 12-15 HP)

And when it is all done a new custom tune w. Methanol tuned( 35-45 more HP) . The results should net me 610-630HP/585-610TQ to the wheels. ET's hopefully in the low 11s and high 10s.

These are things I've been thinking about doing as well...especially the methanol injection. My Maggie heat soaks pretty badly and I've heard the Meth is just what the doctor ordered!

That's an amazing 1/4 time and trap speed. No way in hell I'll ever see that w/o breaking something in the drivetrain...

I was just at the Pontiac dealer a few nights ago to test drive a 2006 goat. I'm seriously considering trading in my TSX for one, being that it is too gutless for my tastes.

Any words of wisdom for me? I figure this is a good place to ask since you've done basically what I'm thinking of doing. The GTO would be my main vehicle but I will have a beater for the winter.

Great car in any case.

I finally saw a GTO with the holden conversion ...so jealous.

Anyways i am curious, you said you use the e-manage?? Have any problems hooking it up and tuning it? Also who did the tuning? what is your air/fuel ratio normally average out to be? I go to a "certain" school that has no idea wtf they are doing with a 04 GTO......So i need some proof.

thanks much!

Sounds sick, Phil2 recently finished his stroker motor w/ SC and it sounds like quite the beast.

Post some pics of this beast I have a 06 M6 Spice Red (GMM ripshift and some Noltec bushings)

Meth is the key!! You should contact Julio @ Alcycontrol.com There is a lot of experience with his kits on the Corvettte forums. The 2 fastest 04 GTOs are using his kit and both are 11.1 - 2s ET 121-128 MPH. Julio happens to own the nations fastest turbo Pontiac TA as well. He knows what he is doing!!
In the end I may be the fastest 05 6m.
I just got word that my custom FTI cam has been shipped.

Seattle Cl-S: PM me if you have any questions I can probably stear you in the right direction.

Believe it or not the quality of the GTO is really top notch. It is built in Australia and there product quality rivals the best from Japan and Europe. I don't miss the lack if quality that my TLS tranny suffered though...

GET IT!!! You should consider a used 05 as the differences between 05/06 are minimal. I picked mine up last Sept. for $25,500. You could probably get one now for 21-24. The $ you save over an 05 could get you a lot of mods!!

I don't have the e-manage on the GTO but the maganavolt. It is Magnusons equivalent to the E-manage. As far as tuners there are some great ones through out the country: "Btlfedfed1500" Richard and "BlownChevy" Brian both in California area. Jeff Creech @ Carolina auto masters(in the Carolina/Tenn area). In Florida: Mike Norris from NLP and then there is Jeramy Formato. All these are excellent tuners for LS1/2s.

I hope to have some picks soon and perhaps some new ETs...

You should check the corvette and GTO(LS1GTO.com) forums as the most successful kit is from Alkycontrol.

I did. Just put up a deposit on an 06 Impulse Blue A4. I can only drive autos as the hand controls I use won't work with a clutch, but that shouldn't be a problem since I've heard the auto on the GTO is still awesome, and doesn't limit you from having good engine management like it can with Honda products.

I looked for used 05's but there weren't any in this area that I liked. Oh well!

Going from a 200hp/140tq I4 to a 400hp/400tq V8 will be incredible. Driving the right wheels this time too.

You'll love it. There is nothing like the feeling of over 300 lb. ft. pushing you into your seat.

Congratulations!!!! The impulse blue is a beautiful color. Is it blue interior as well? The auto will be fun. There are 04s with Maggies that are getting 1.5-6 60ft in the 1/4. Yours should do great. Get a Maggie for it instant 120-145 rear WHP.
I just got my FTI cam yesterday it will be good for another 40-45 HP.
Let us know how you like it.
