A. just a Sunday morning drive on some high speed roads in the middle east, whats 170 mph on a laser straight road, plus it was a "test" not a "race"...

B. I think you would be surprised, a highly modified E36 is a track warrior and with a small diet hits the Modena's fighting weight, on a tight track the 360's MR layout would probably let it reign but say if they went back to the Modena's homeland and ran around Monza I think the Italian would have a hard time shaking that M3 if the chassis and brakes are up to the engine UNTIL heat soak sucked the life force out of the blown Bimmer.

Although I am a BMW fanboy, I am a bigger Ferrari Tifosa, and the 360 will fill the empty spot in my garage as soon as Maranello builds enough F430s to get the price down around 120...then I can put about 7.5 lbs of boost on my S54 but even though it will be quicker it will never sound like a 5 valve, flat plane cranked V8 at 8500!

It's late and my math isn't the greatest, what does 280km/h equate to?
I'd still take the f-car

Like I said above a little over 170, roughly 174.

My guess the E36 was just about to run out of gear the Modena (said to be 420 HP) would probably be good for 185, about the same as a CS.
