Saw my first 05 Mustang...
So this morning on my way to work, I made the first sighting of a 05 Mustang driving on the streets of NoVA. Surprisingly enough, it looks pretty good and is actually quite attention grabbing.
Unfortunately, do digi-cam with me at the time, so no picture.

I'm the Firestarter
The trick will be to sit inside and see what materials they used... I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the retro interior design, from the photos I saw.

I'm sure it's a very bad decision even though they were not winning or going anywhere in F1.

what i was told from my local gm nut is that the plant that the camaro/firebirds were built was in canada. This plant was under some contract with gm to the soul location where camaros/firebirds could be built...
after killing both vehicles that plant lost most/all of its work and is dead, now when that plant is torn down gm is rumored to bring back the camaro, built in australia next to the GTO, but it will have a retro look like the mustang...prob a 67-69 camaro look, my favorite years, the GTO is a very nice car and i almost considered one before my TSX...
hopefully some more gm knowledgable people can verify what i was told or go into more detail...

Probably not. I just hope they dont destroy the Camaro/Firebird like they did with the GTO and Malibu.

The new Crustang, err Mustang looks alright, but I will not be owning one or suggesting anyone else buy one either. If I happen to win one for whatever reason, I promise to give it away

Well, I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I really like the new Mustang. I've always liked old Fords and a buddy of mine has a nice 67 coupe that is a lot of fun. I've been kind of half-heartedly looking for an old one for the past couple years and the 67/68 fastback is my favorite style. I think this new car does a great job of capturing the spirit of the original "pony cars" in a more practical and modern vehicle. C&D had some great things to say about the car recently. Yeah, yeah, boomer nostalgia gone amuck. Whatever, I'm really looking forward to seeing one of these in person.

They've captured the spirit of the pony car....go fast in a straight line. The Cobra and Cobra R's were much better with the independent rear, and the last 2003 Cobra's are actually damn good cars. Mucho supercharged power + a decent suspension setup.

Is it just me or Ford's decision to make the new Mustang retro looking a big mistake??? I'm just talking from a design stand point. Designining your new car like the way it looked 40 years ago is like saying to everybody: We give up. We couldn't come up with a new design so wer'e using old styles. We have no new vision, no new direction, no new style to come up with. So we are recycling old ideas. We are gonna look for inspiration from the 50's. They were the good ol' days before the foreign cars came and dominated. Aaaahhh...simple times.
It seems to me that lately, domestic car makers are being nostalgic for good ol' days. Don't they have any new, cool ideas? The new Stang, Thunderbird, PT Cruiser, they all look like a blast from the past. Cadillac looked towards the future when they designed their current crop of cars and they look absolutely stunning and they are selling well. Why can't Ford and Chrysler do the same?

Personally, I would love to have one of the custom "Eleanor" cars from the recent version of Gone in 60 Seconds.
