Saw a couple of very nice, very abused cars.

Some people in my city have more money than they can ever spend. I personally know a guy that is retired with a wife and 3 kids, lives in a house that could probably be classified as a mansion, his wife drives a brand new BMW, and he isn't even 40 yet. There is a couple that goes to my church that makes $1 million together annually. Point is, (not to brag), people in my area are rich. I was stopped at a light today with my window rolled down and to my left was a gas station. A black Bentley Continental Flying Spur that was getting gas caught my attention. The driver goes to the passenger side and opens the door. Problem is, the bottom of the door is the same height as the concrete slab below the gas pump. I hear the door scrape against the concrete from across the street when he opens the door, and then scrape again as the owner closes the door. He doesn't even flinch. Then around 10 PM, I go to Albertsons to get some gum. From 20 feet away, the brand new (dealer's plates were still there) BMW 7-series looks fine. 10 feet away, I realize it is extremely dirty. I honestly can't remember the last car I saw so dirty, and i can't imagine how it got so dirty so fast. Then as I get closer, I realize the car has a dent in the driver's side door the size of a small soccer ball. Maybe from slamming into a gas station pole? I look down and see a 3-foot, deep, metal-warping dent/scratch going along the side of the car. Either that was a really bad day, or that is a very careless owner.

Yeah, those people don't really care about a car like that.

The insanely wealthy will just buy another car.

most people like that are under the impression that if they break it, they can buy a new one since money is readily available. However when you bust your butt working to earn money and save up for your possessions, you value them. Of course there are the outliers which don't work for possessions, but still do take phenomenal care of them.

I know plenty of wealthy people who value their money because they made it on their own.

People who abuse their possessions and waste money are the ones who got rich quickly. This kind of wealth generally does not last long.

Throughout the years it's been my experience that most people who are self made and work hard take care of their things, realizing the value of them and taking the time and effort to maintain them. I too have seen many expensive cars and trucks that haven't been cared for, and a substantial amount of these vehicles are either leased or currently owned by those who can't really afford them. Of course this isn't true in all cases, but surprising more common than people think.

Nouveau Riche generally will be like that but that's because they have no class.

Just because people have nice cars doesn't mean they can drive worth a shit.

I have fairly wealthy grandparents and great grandparents that made all the money on their own. They take awesome care of their stuff.

The Bentley guy was a guy, not sure about the owner of the 7-series.

I briefly dated a girl worth close to 300M. Her dad was worth significantly more.

We went shopping for an outfit for one of her charity events and she spent $13,000 on a dress, purse, ear rings, and shoes.

We were near Mulholland in her Brabus CL600 with Brabus 22s and she was hitting every pothole on purpose because in her words it was fun. She bent one of the rims and didn't care one bit.

They had a pool party thing where each day during the summer someone hosted a bad ass pool party at their house. Admission was $4,500 each for the whole summer. She paid for mine without blinking an eye. I felt like poor white trash as most were celebs or really rich people.

The following day she was complaining because her cheeseburger cost too much at $8. She was crazy about leaving lights on. She complained that gas cost too much. She complained about her car getting scratched even though she bent the rims. She was always complaining about the small things which I found really weird.

Where I grew up there were plenty of people with very nice things. The ones who generally could afford it took care of their stuff, the ones who couldn't didn't.

What people drive is not a direct correlation to their net worth. The richest person where I grew up drove a Lexus SC430 yet was worth more than every single person in the town combined 5 times over.

New money. It means the newly rich.

My friend's dad cross-shopped a 135i and a Quattroporte. Bought the 1.

She's a lot of fun as a friend. She wanted to spend some time in my redneck town and I told her no way, she would get us both killed with that mouth of hers. I'm one of the only people in her life that talk shit to her and I think that's why she likes me.

LOL. Maybe so. Everyone in her circle kisses her ass for obvious reasons but she doesn't realize she's not famous outside of her Hollywood circle. I really like her as a friend, I'm not mean to her but I don't bow down either. I barely knew her or who she was when she invited me to her birthday party. It was almost surreal to have Mario Lopez and Paris Hilton laying out at her pool. It was mandatory of course to get drunk to take the edge off but they were boring that day anyway.

Almost forgot, speaking of vehicles, she drove a Jeep Wrangler before the Mercedes. She wanted to get a Viper once she totaled the Jeep and one of her idiot friends talked her into the Mercedes. A chick driving a Viper would be pretty nice. And besides, I wanted to drive it.

I decided to take a picture this time. A nice but abused car. She said the front end was coming off. I couldn't imagine a factory Brabus front end coming off. This is what I saw and she said she didn't hit anything.
