RSX-S vs 03 Accord V6 coupe
Me my friend were just having a discussion and out of curiousity which car do you think would win between the 2003 Acura RSX Type S or the 2003 Honda Accord Coupe V6?

The 2003 Accord is the old body style right? They changed for 2004 correct? If that is the case, the 2003 Accord with the V6 is an automatic transmission only. It will be a driver's race. The RSX-S does low 15's in the quarter mile. Same for the Accord.

A 2003 Accord is the new body style (240hp). If its the manual '03 Accord V6 coupe then the Accord will most likely win. Automatic, its probably the RSX-S (which is manual ONLY).
The RSX-S runs 1/4 times equivalent to the TL-S/CL-S 5AT stock. (0-60 in 6.1secs, 1/4 mile in 14.8secs @ 95mph)
The 2003 Accord Coupe v6 Manual is faster than the RSX-S in the 1/4 mile though (0-60 in 6.2secs, 1/4 mile in 14.5secs @ 98mph).
All data gathered from www.car-stats.com
Don't ignore the '03 Accord Coupe v6 6spd its a lot faster than most would imagine.
BTW- Who wins is always up to the driver. The RSX-S is not an easy car to launch to attain the 14.8sec 1/4 mile, most average drivers would probably put down a 15.0.
The '03 Accord Sedan v6 for comparison's sake (auto only) runs a 6.6second 0-60 and a 15.0sec 1/4 mile @ 95mph... The '03 Accord Coupe AT would probably run it a little bit faster due to its lighter weight.

My 2003 Accord V6 Automatic was running 14.8's and 90's with a best of 14.85@93mph last tuesday night. The only current modification to the car is an Injen Intake.
Just to give you an idea of some of the times the Accords are putting down.

Of course real life situations are going to be different. I know I had a ton of problems with wheel hop at the track when it was cold out but didn't have as many problems when it was warmer ... So it depends on when you're testing, where you're testing (weather, track conditions, elevation all make a difference). But in a race where you're both in the exact same situation the numbers should at least help you estimate who will win. Of course the magazine numbers are on different tracks from different days ... So you can't rely on them ... but hey its just something to go off of.
I did say that real world numbers were gonna be different ... I know the RSX-S like you said in particular is hard to launch properly. Most stock RSX-S's I've seen run in the low 15s...

I too have seen may RSX-S's in the lower 15's mostly due to poor short times. I ran an RSX-S last year and our timeslips were nearly identical to each other - 15.0ish at around the same mph as well.
Just to give you some more information. Here is the information from my timeslip last week.
2003 Accord EX-V6 Coupe (Automatic)
R/T - .404
60' - 2.308
330' - 6.359
1/8 - 9.634
MPH - 74.84
1000 - 12.488
1/4 - 14.859
MPH - 93.00
Again my car is a 2003 Accord EX-V6 w/Automatic transmission, 12k miles on the clock and an Injen Cold Air Induction system.
