I have to admit (as a Nissan guy) that Acura's TSX entry seems to be far more successful than Infiniti's go at this segment with the G20. But while I do give props to Acura for the TSX (a terrific sedan with its only caveat being power), I am not too eager to see an entry level C-platform Infiniti G20 (or C20) anytime soon.

The only thing you didn't do was mention the VQ.

....I wouldn't mind seeing an entry level, C-platformed Infiniti offering with a VQ powertrain.

No. There is no TSX coupe in the works. The next coupe introduction for Acura is going to be a bit nicer than a TSX. Then comes the new NSX after that.

I would'nt mind seeing a G25 or G30. Something with a smaller V6.

You misspelled that...

I think you meant to write... "I wouldn't mind seeing a TSX with a turbo 4 or a small V6"

But much like you Greeniie, I'd like my next ride to be RWD. Although I'd take a close look at AWD.

If I can't have RWD in a TSX-type Honda, I'll take that powertrain.

Not if it returns 19/24 MPG like it does in the RDX.

Considering that the TSX will weigh about 400 pounds less that the RDX, I would have to imagine that the TSX would get better gas mileage.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

The SH-AWD system may add about 150 lbs to the TSX if it were to ever happen. It's actually a pretty lightweight design.

Ya I know, just pointing out how poor IMO the RDX is on fuel. But even if it weighs 400 lbs less, having 22/27 TSX isn't very impressive either.

I've heard the RL's system weights 300+ lbs.

if the 2008/09 TSX has the RDX motor and drivline with a slick shifting 6sp, then i think i'll be back in a TSX, while i love the Legacy, i still miss the refinement in the TSX, and Navi.

given the RDX, the motor is 240hp/260tq, but i imagine acura would tune it for a car application, meaning 260HP/240tq..... or 260/260...... now, if they can go back to cable throttle (i doubt) and make the ecu a bit easier to crack, and SH-AWD, then yea, i wouldn't mind paying 35,000 for a fully loaded TSX...

edit: dom, doesn't the TSX already have 27 or 29MPG highway??? but with the addition on my injen i saw that go up to 31 consistantly and 33 when being careful....

Its officially rated at 22/31 AT and 22/30 MT.

I can't see it equally those figures with the 2.3 from the RDX even if it comes in at 400lbs less. Maybe if its tuned for 220-230 lb-ft

well with a turbo car its all about throttle and keeping the turbo from kicking in, as gas milage will suck, exponentially..... and i agree there is no way the RDX motor will get 30, or anything close.... i think the legacy with 2.5 T gets 25 highway, which i still can' get i get about 23, 24 tops....

edit: i coulda sworn my 04 TSX 6MT didn't say 30MPG

I'm thinking to add the carbon driveshaft and the rear diff assembly in addition to the already existent front assembly. Not for the system as a whole. The front transmission assembly (box and output shafts) weighs in right around 150 lbs.

Remember, I used to work for Acura. I had to memorize all that crap regarding SH-AWD upon introduction on not only the sales side, but also service. It sucked going through all that just to learn about this new driveline, but it is a rather unique system.

In comparison I think the CL-S 6-speed is rated at 19/27

I did not know that the TSX listed @ 22/27. I had always pressumed the TSX to be in the 23/30 range. (Comparatively speaking, the EPA on an Altima 3.5SE 5MT is 21/27.)

No, the TSX is rated at 22/31 AT and 22/30 AT. I was just suggesting that a possible future TSX with an RDX engine would rate 22/27 compared to the RDX's 19/24 considering it will weigh less.

BTW - I average 26 MPG on my TSX in mostly city driving.

I get a combined 24.3 (with EPA 16/26) on the S2K, and I drive in a very "spirited manner."
