ew, a soft sport
I think it was because of the aggressive looking door opening and hatch opening...
the Caddy always felt tight to me...even the seat felt like it sat high in comparison.

Even J was like, damn...this thing has a big ass trunk.

The IROZ engines are built, but with just a tune you'll be running 11s in those things.

True but my Golf R conversion from the 1.4T S is nearly complete. Will be getting the wheels put on today.

If I can't swing a used AMG wagon or Sport Turismo as my next car, I'm getting the RS3. That 5 banger is incredible.

RS3 is incredible ... I just wish it had power seats .

All jokes aside, FBO & E85 on stock powertrain (including turbo) will put you in the 10s pretty easily. Hybrid turbo on stock motor / transmission puts you in the deep 9s ...

I haven't driven the RS3, but the lack of memory seats is a bit of a concern because I share my car with my wife. I would also want to know what the Haldex AWD system does differently, since it's FWD based.

When a car is that fast and hooliganistic, you don't need memory seats.

We'll just say that power seats were tossed in favor of weight savings...

I ain't about that slammed life anymore.
Damn they let you return already installed springs? I agree just always do coilovers it is just better unless you are doing struts with adjustable perch is the only point of springs. Well that and trying to keep magnaride.

In driving both, you won't notice a difference in day to day driving. The big difference is that the Torsen systems are mechanically driven whereas the Haldex is electronically driven. The older Haldex systems were largely put unliked because the system was slow to respond to the desire for rear traction when the Torsens would immediately get power to the rear (because they never didn't have power to the rear). The newer Haldex systems are MUCH faster to respond to the need for power so you probably won't be able to really tell any difference. The biggest reason they have two different options is transverse engine vs longitudinal engine mounting.

tl;dr: You won't be able to tell 99% of the time.

That's what critics are saying about the quattro with ultra technology or whatever it is. You won't notice much of the time. Also, apparently it can be defeated with dynamic mode.

Although, is quattro ultra even available anymore? The Allroad, maybe.

I'll tell you that in my personal experience...
all these people that tell you they feel a difference are feeling the difference immediately based on what they've read or regurgitate from what they've heard.
Real world experience there is no way that most of them are feeling the difference almost ever.

Even the sport diff...you read all the hype...oh must have option, better have sport diff. !!!
So I test drove one with a sport diff...went to get on an a sweeping curve onto the highway expecting to be able to push it a little...it did this little weird little uninspiring wiggle.
that actually kinda made me go WTF.

Now, if I had it on my car I'm sure I'd be preaching why it's a must but being somewhat unbiased I don't think most people would know.
and to be honest where would you use it? Spirited driving on the tail of the dragon? on a track? Would your overweight sedan be your first
choice for those over something like an S2000? S2000 doesn't have a sport diff!?!? The horror!

Productive weekend...
I thought about what differences between front and rear and realized I didn't cut the rear bumpstops since the shocks are a separate entity on the rear. Thought maybe
the car was resting on them slightly. What do you know, trim it and the rear comes down like a half inch. That said, the spring design actually has less coils on the
front (which is opposite what I'm used to) so it stands to reason the front would lower immediately and the rear would need some time to settle with the more tightly wound
coils. The spring design dictastes that you can't cut them, sadly.

Removed front bolt in fender liner and rolled the fender lip up a tad. No more rubbing. All things considered, it drives very smoothly.

oh and I debadged and rebadged the rear to get under all the dirt and grime and hologrammed sprinkler hard water etching to really polish it out.
All I can say is my new go to is Klasse AIO on an orange pad...no hazing, no need to remove compound swirls and leaves surface feeling like
you coated with polymer. On top of that went a quick coat of wolfgang's. Long day Saturday but the end result was pretty stunning if I may say.

even waxed the wheels with collinite...love the silver matte with the mirrors...looks so good

Klasse is good stuff.

I think the front still sits a bit too low for my tastes, but it certainly looks better. @ leaving the rear on the bumpstops

That ass is smooth too.
