You better wear some eye protection, have the kids sit on the fender, and turn your head when you snip the ties..

Same here. Don't want to see J get hurt from an exploding spring.

J's bought not one, but two, Audis...
And you all are focused on the zip-ties as a questionable decision.
You guys need to go to church.

LOL...
I was able to compress the springs with my weight, the smaller coils.
It was easy to zip tie just to get the spring short enough to fit in the assembly.
All of this doesn't matter...
I'm too old to be doing things the wrong way on a car I'll probably be keeping for a while.
Springs are getting returned and coilovers on the way.

It's like a $300 difference between springs + inevitable need to replace shocks and having full coilovers meant to be together and adjustable.
If the car is already tucking/rubbing up front then when it settles it's only going to get worse. Fuck that.
I ain't about that slammed life anymore.

Thanks fellas...
I'm happy as fuck in it too.
I'm a little surprised at HOW happy I am with the DSG too...but something about how quickly and smoothly it shifts
is more satisfying than a traditional automatic, enough so to be exciting to drive and not keep thinking I wish I had manual
Okay, so after a day of settling...I heard a rubbing noise and am pretty certain the tire is touching the fender liner even when going
straight so I parked this bih and drove the Volvo for now. I was pretty set on rolling fender and maybe doing something to get the
rear lower but honestly at this stage of my life, I'm not interested in having to compromise and worry about bacon fender and destroying
a car when I take a turn...especially a car meant to handle corners at speed.
I ordered the H&R Street Performance Coilovers...they are the same ones I put on my S2000 and my initial impression on that was that
if I ever bought another coilover kit again and they made it for my application, it would hands down be my top pick.
Plot twist is that I have a buddy that offered me some Eibach Prokits for free to try out...but after reading reviews on uneven drop
and rear sitting too high in comparison to the front...I feel like I'll be 3 more hours of labor lost for the swap only to be disappointed again.
Ride isn't bad...but I can feel that I'm sitting lower on the shocks with the rebound on the stock shocks. It's not harsh or bumpy but you
can just feel that it's not as solid of a thud going over bumps. I am looking forward to the ability to dial in the perfect ride height and knowing
that my shocks are paired properly and not on a rapidly diminished service life.
Putting a little more money into the car should be a good indication that I'll be keeping it. Or at the very least I'll be staying with this platform
a la pass this dsg to my mother that is in love with mine and then move all my mods over to a 6MT when pricing comes down further
on them. maybe...but I can say that as I felt back when I borrowed the Blue S5...this is the best all around car I've owned.

LOL...
Maj...
You guys keep me laughing.
In reality, I should have maybe probably kept that car. I knew it from day one, I knew it inside and out...sold it with 112K and all maintenance done and then some.
My old Israeli landlord spit some knowledge on me when he'd show up with different cars every month to collect rent...he came to this country with nothing...he hustled...he had
properties and a towing business and all of the toys. He watched me month after month shining up the TL and he said "you love that car, huh?". I said yeah...he said "love your wife and your kids
don't ever love an object like a car. Buy it, enjoy it, look for good deals...sell it...move on (, looser)." That and the thought that I'd be a boring old car enthusiast that only ever really experienced a
FWD reliable Ohio Japanese sedan made me sad. I thought, wow...what an interesting enthusiast always playing it safe. So I sold that one...got blue...got Caddy...got got got...and it's been a slippery
slope since then. I have zero regrets and wake up every day feeling fucking good about my life choices.
I still keep in touch with the guy I sold the car too, too...it's up in SC on a military base.

Null and proud of it
YAY! Glad to see the TL is still happy and owned by someone who keeps in touch with you, J! Yeah, you've owned sone pretty freaking sweet cars!
Glad to hear you're happy and without any regret!
This Audi may be that one, special, do everything car! Hopefully your next love for a few good years to come!
For me, selling my cars a lot just isn't my style, though.... I'm the other way around... I want a car that I can buy and keep for 5-10 years, and love it so much where nothing else even catches my eye, but that's just me!
I grew up in a place where people keep there old cars for a decade or two... Heck, my aunt still has her mint 1995 Maxima she bought brand new in 1994! It only has just over 100K miles and it's fully loaded... Pearl white with black leather! Just like a time capsule! It even uses OBD1...
But J, I am literally so freaking happy you've got cool Audi!
Like we were discussing before, the 2.0T/DCT is no joke!

Cool, Wes...there's something to keeping an older car for a long time.
If it's any consolation I've had the S2000 for 4 years now.
Maj...honestly, it doesn't feel any smaller inside than the Cadillac, even the wagon.
Body wise, you can feel the weight when you throw it around corners but it is pretty
nimble, all things considered.

Kurt has big balls
On his chin
J can't leave shit alone
He not only modified his car
He modified three other people's rides in the quest to do so
Bullllshit
That pic of your knees and legs filling the footwell
Plus the pic of it next to that Hyundai
S4 looks marginally bigger than the 3

No way bro, it's all in how you measure. You gotta put the measuring tape like 15 inches into the tailpipe to start measuring. That counts.
