Damn I love the aftermarket support for this car...
it's like someone heard my complaints and made cheap products to deal with it.
Modifry DCI wiring harness for maintaining radio dash controls, side cup removable cup holder with bracket and center console organizer arrived today.

How did you mount that thing there
I like how the leather still looks ummmmm opposite of shiney
I like how you don't even replace the license plate bulbs and keep everything stock.
I like the idea of clearing the headlights. Will that open us a way to go white leds all around?
I love you for having that knob on both bishes
Where is the new radio? Unit whatever
Steven has a good point

And thanks Steven, for the thread title update on the TL thread!
Yeah, I know, Mehmet...the leather on this one is superior. I recently even found out, based on my VIN that this S2000 was one of the last produced in the Takanezawa plant...maybe they used better leather
I agree, with the orange/yellowish tag, I actually like the regular yellowish bulbs...also, I have a feeling my headlights already have CBI..I lined up both cars and couldn't really tell a difference in output/color...that would be great.
About the clearing up front, I'd buy it with the chrome dipped amber bulbs, they mainly only light up when signalling anyway so I wouldn't feel inclined to go WHITE or LED at all. I don't want to hack up anything for resistors or mess with electrical. It's a virgin car as far as electrical goes and I'd like to keep it that way.

Yes yes get chrome bulb for it, leave the rest alone
Well, acutally you could justttttt replace the interior and license plate bulbs to white as well..... but don't touch any wires or resistors

I'm sure you will hate me for this one but watching that video a few pages back had me bored after 1:20 seconds....I really wish you would have looked for a previously owned STi...the difference between my car and yours is you don't need to throw in music in a video bc the car sounds so ridiculously good...and handling? Ha we won't go there and I haven't touched the suspension mods yet....don't hate

Yeah, if they ever get the styling right, maybe I'd consider one...I just couldn't fathom paying over 30K for something that I don't like the looks of. And your car sounded aggressive, but if we're going purely subjective and on what sounds sexy, I'd still be in a Mustang over that.
Everything else you mentioned, there's no denying, I've always been a fan. Then again, I'm not in a competition with you.

^^^no...should I? I like the s2ks but would I take one over my STi ? No way ....at stage 2 now and I have really no problems with 90% of the cars on the road...don't take me wrong I don't street race ...I will be going e85 soon on a protune and will be approaching 350-360whp/420-430tq...I will be an 11 sec quarter mile car
Jeremy I wasn't referring to picking up a new one and I hope your not saying you don'tike the styling on my car bc if so your a liar (to me that is) again, I like both your cars and anyone who thinks I'm being a D to Jeremy can kick dirt bc J knows my sarcasm

^^^ I think the difference is people debating between straight line/quarter mile to a nice curvy track....
I have no doubt that the STI is quick and fun in both realms....well if I could ever get over how bland the interior is for the EVO, I would definitely own that...

It's cool, Matt...I was pretty buzzed and your comment just came RIGHT after my buddy left in his tuned 2013 5.0 and I was feeling a little inadequate. Plus, it seemed mean.
I'm not kidding about the styling...the ONLY reason I don't mind the looks is the mystique behind all the WRC pedigree and the fact that I KNOW how well the car performs...but straight up looking at it, the lines of it don't jump out at me as a car I'm in LOVE with. Honestly though, for AWD chipped forced induction performance, I'd probably pick the S5 I was driving for a week. Very refined and can't debate how sexy it looks.

i feel like underprivileged for owning only 1 car in mah life LOL...

Thanks for that Gary, cheered me right up. Anil...you could ride a bicycle and still be ahead of most of us in life with that fucking house of yours :gtfo:
and if it makes anyone feel any better, I just scared Betty (read: both Betty and I) because I took her to the back of some shopping plaza and got a little overzealous with my set of doughnuts and almost clipped a building...
I tried to play cool but she saw the look on my face.
and in other news...
My die hard 460 rwhp friend drove it yesterday...I had considered a used 2011 GT500 but backed down because too much money for a weekend car and was not the body style I REALLY like (2013)...I thought for sure he'd say the S was a chick car but was pleasantly surprised. He said he's always liked the styling a lot and after he drove it he came back and said that it felt pretty quick and had some balls. That made my day.

...were you smarter than me and did you do it in a parking lot with lots o room?
Actually, first Friday morning after buying it...came to the four way stop near my old place...it was raining...full 360 and about the biggest smile on my face.

Well, here was my problem...I was trying to impress Betty so I didn't stop after the first or second one and it kept getting more and more wild.
I told her I won't do it again until we have space...I HAVE somewhat perfected the fast acceleration out of 1st onto a normal road....slightly sideways enough not to even need to really correct. Just point where I want to go and wait for it to catch up.

Honestly...I agree 100% with the above post. I can't even EXPLAIN it to anyone...it's got no torque down low...respectable numbers but not spectacular...harsh ride...loud inside cabin...but there is SOMETHING that I can't describe that is "intangible" that makes the car pure joy every time I do get behind the wheel...that part is absolutely true. I drove 3 hours with the wife to go pick it up...I ALMOST didn't buy it but ended up deciding to go for it...on the drive home, I felt like I formed a bond with the car and was hooked...I felt like I "GOT" why people that have S2000's are such fanatics.
I go over to sk2i now and I can't tell you how many members have had 2 or 4 or 5 S2000's...they think they want something better or newer and they almost ALL end up coming back to another one, or an NSX. This includes STI's and various other great cars.
I would also suggest driving it...although I get the feeling Matt already made up his mind about not liking it.

Hell yes it feels good, man...it feels awesome. Honestly, I like that feeling MORE than full on doughnut....just slightly out of control then it kinda boomerangs and launches you into going straight...fun feeling.

I don't know what this "launches you into going straight" feeling is. My car is incapable of supplying that.
But the slightly out of control feeling - I know that one well.
