Thumbs down Road Rage....

So i was watching this documentary about Road Rage, i was stunned with people who does this professionally. Ill be the biggest hypocrite though if I say i dont do road rage. Yes, and there's so many reason why..... one of them that i hate the most is STUPID DRIVERs!!! I just dont have patience with this kind of driver's. Hey! Ill admit it feels good yelling or giving a finger to other drivers. And you know what on the end of the day i realized its not even worth getting yourself a TICKET, ACCIDENT or worst KILLED. That's why I want to start this THREAD, this is an issue that most driver's are facing right now. How about you, are you a victim? Tell us your ROAD RAGE stories.....

Apparently I have road rage.
Except I drive normal... I just get angry.. or I laugh at stupid drivers.
Like ones who cut you off, or drive with their trunk open, or last minutely decide to TURN when the light says to go straight thus blocking traffic.. or vice versa. Stay in the turning lane when the light says turn but sit there and then go straight!

I once tailgated a black 08 MDX who cut me off in a traffic jam without signalling, which almost made me rear-end him going 40km/h.. so I instinctively swirved right.. which when I did a minivan almost smashed my passenger-side of the 3g TL.
So seeing as how my passenger almost died, and my baby almost got injured, I tailgated the MDX and honked at the stupid mother-father for a good 5kms of road... and while I was tailgating him, when we were both stuck in traffic... a stupid black-golf tried to cut me off [without signalling and crossing the lane with a solid line].. so I started honking at him every inch we could move. Then he went in 2 inches into my lane and I stared him down while still honking at him [which at the same time he was making us both hold up traffic--to the already badtraffic jam]. He eventually got back normally onto his lane--which he ended up getting honked at the cars behind him and I began tailgating the MDX all over again.
Hows that for a story? Or rambling?

I almost got it on this morning during my commute to work. I was on my motorcycle in the left lane cruising at about 80 in 70. This biatch in an old minivan in the center lane moved over and cut me off. I'm talking cut me off so close that I had to actually floor it to get out of her way, not brake to get behind her. I was already at her rear bumper when she started moving in.

I'm going to start carrying a police baton and smash their windows. Inattentive drivers fucking piss me off.

i've learned to control my road rage through music! each morning i get up at the crack of dawn, get ready in a spiffy suit and tie, and leave the house bright and early JUST TO SIT IN TRAFFIC FOR APPROX. 1 HR FOR A 10 MILE DRIVE!!! nothing pisses me off more than being prepared for a good day at work and then having to succumb to stop-and-go idiots weaving in and out of lanes to move 1 car length ahead. so, i now listen to light classical on the way to work. it certainly has a calming/soothing affect

My road rage is almost non-existant now that I no longer live in New Jersey.

I was never as bad as Komodo though. It just was never really worth it. And I spent my days driving in the North NJ, NYC area. I don't think it gets worst that that. I have been cut off, tail gated, forced out of lanes, almost crushed by buses and trucks, rear-ended, bumped and anything else.

The worse thing I ever did was pull into the same gas station as an idiot that cut me off and exchanged some words with him.

In my younger days, I took it upon myself to "educate" other drivers on the road when they did idiotic things. Much of the above applies to me.

Then, many years ago, I got into a brake testing match with a guy in an old Chrysler. At the end of it he pointed a very large caliber Desert Eagle at me. That was back in 1995, and it cured my "instructional" habits for good.

TOTALLY believable Ravi. I swear that the DMV in NJ only requires a pulse in order to secure an operator's license....though many NJ drivers appear to not even have that.

Thankfully, the extent of my regular driving is ~ 1 mile each way to the train station. Hence, I have too little time to build up any road rage.

Funny thing is, 99% of drivers are real pussies when they're out of their 3000 lb weapon. I would know.

Never been much of a road rager, but I will not hesitate to hold onto my horn a little longer than necessary once and a while...

That's why I keep my Taser in the door pocket.
I get annoyed at stupid drivers, but I don't do stupid things like tail gate or cut them off. When I feel like that I count to 3.
It's juts not worth it. I do get upset with drivers that run solid red lights. It's a BIG problem in FL. I want red light cameras!

I was once driving in a 55 and the guy infront of me was doing 35. I passed him, and made a right turn. The guy went the same way as me, blew the horn, and almost rearended me. i was pissed.

Flipping someone off out the sunroof is FUN!!!

I was driving on U.S.20 in my Accord. headed eastbound up by my g/f's U.S. 20 a 4 lane highway with a turn lane. speed limit 55 but your safe to do 57-60. I was doing about 58-60 mph. I was in the fast lane(or left lane) and there was slower semi truck(running estimate of 45-50 mph) then behind him was a Jeep Liberty. well i saw I was already in my lane going around the Liberty and semi. I'm about 1/2 way around the Liberty.the Liberty starts coming over into my lane i go into the turn lane. lay on the horn. flip him off. he's pissed at me. I'm thinking WTF. i was in my lane. what pissed me off. no one was behind me for miles. so if he would have just waited maybe 10 seconds there wouldn't have been an issue and drop in behind me.

Safe to state that the flip off likely exacerbated matters a bit.

That's funny. I have a 15" retractable baton under those crappy cupholders we have in the '99 TL-P. Great hiding spot. The baton has a nice little lead ball at the head for cracking more than just windows. LOL. jk.

Flipping off is a waste of time IMO. In most cases it really just makes the other driver feel good about what he's done.

Yea I can't help but get road rage too. SUV drivers that change lanes without looking or assume they have enough space to force their way into your lane are the worst!
Or when some jerk off just absolutely has to get in front of you. So they cut you off then they proceed to drive below speed limit.

I can't stand slow drivers hogging the fast lane ... or during carpool hours, some idiots choose to drive in the HOL because he/she has a hybrid yet with a 60 MPH speed when the slow lanes have plenty of space available ...

Anyone from Arizona knows about the "Snow Birds" that are here right now. It's the anciently old blue haired people that only live in Arizona for half the year and drive 40mph in the left lane on the highway. It's unreal. And don't even get me started when it starts raining out here. Being from CT/NY I scream at the top of my lungs nearly everyday between the months of October-April, but I definitely try not to give the finger or tailgate anymore because with my luck it'll be some roid head with a gun and not an 80 year old guy behind the wheel.

I've started flashing my brights instead of honking, just because people seem to go nuts if you honk at them here in CO. I've had people get out of my way because they were going 60 in a 65 where everyone does 80 then proceed to tailgate me for miles as a result though.

road rage is F*CKING stupid, real talk.

i used to be a crazy ass, angry driver. i used to flash a pistol at other drivers who would piss me off. i would bang the horn hard, kick the glovebox, talk shit, etc. i have another friend with similar road rage bursts.

well a couple years we both got DUIs followed by license suspension. when your driving with no L's, you learn to be a MUCH CALMER DRIVER!

in the last couple years driving is a much more slow, relaxed thing for me. i never speed, pass people, always give right of way, cruise in the slow lane. its tought me that road rage and speeding through traffic is stupid, stressful and risky.

so yea, i drive like an old person now. you people are probably the ones honking at me to go faster.

I'm almost afraid of when I get my CCW permit. If anyone has the fucking balls to come up to my window they've got another thing coming. For now a breaker bar under the front seat will do... its for when I get a flat.

Bad drivers piss me off.... but most probably think they drive just fine and won't change, and yelling at them, mugging them while doing 70 on the freeway, honking at them, high-beaming them... its not gonna do shit. They'll be on their jolly little way and just think you're an angry motorist. But if they don't like my driving, then they can come complain to me in my face, none of that glaring at me from the next lane over bs.

See that's the problem, you're looking to solve the problem by adding to it by carrying a gun in your car when you get your license. I think it's a dumb idea personally. Reason being is if someone comes up to your car with a gun, then what are you going to do? Pull out your gun and have an old west shoot out? I think having a gun in your car, license or not, with the intentions of using it to teach someone a lesson is inviting yourself to be in that kind of situation.

I've been in two separate incidents where I was a passenger in a car and someone pointed a gun at me and my friend who was driving (same friend btw, which says something about picking your friends wisely which I obviously didn't at the time), and let me tell you, the best way of dealing with that is to just get the f*ck out of there ASAP and don't look back. I don't care if someone might think that's being a p*ssy and backing down, if it saves your life and you can tell the story 10 years later like I can because you lived through it then yes, I admit it, I'm a p*ssy and so is my friend, thank God. I can't imagine pulling a gun back on someone because all that's going to do is get someone killed. It's just not worth it over a freaking road incident.

Only one thing throws me over the edge:

2 lane exit - 1 goes left (in a line of traffic) and 1 goes right (the direction Im heading)

The right lane will be backed up because people will exit in the right lane, then STOP traffic to merge back into the left lane.

So I drive my lowered vehicle onto the shoulder and drive off.

Wow. Dude. You have like, forum-rage or something.
You can think what you want about me. I don't think I'm better than anyone else. It's just if you drive like an idiot and risk my life I'm going to be on your ass. It's not that I was having pure-road-rage when the MDX cut me off and nearly took my life. It's that I did what I did to get on his nerves by me pressuring the driver. That sounds pretty uhm.. stuck up too, I know. But hey! Whats more valuable? My life or the driver's nerves/stupid driving?
And trust me. I don't act like this behind the wheel. I act like this in person as well. I'm a nice guy. But once you do something to me that I don't like, well. I'd be on your ass in person, not just behind the wheel of a car.
And what is "Road rage for showing off"? Road rage isn't something to be shown off for.
Everyone who took a test is NOT a 'qualified professional driver'. They just passed a test because they can follow instructions. Hey, anyone can follow instructions. A "qualified professional driver" is more of a "professional-racecar-driver" like Nascar(ew), Formula or WRC even.
Also, you are the one who created this thread. Whats the point of creating this thread if you would most likely expect answers about having road rage? It's like you WANT to flame at us. Dude. Get real.
That being all said. Refering to my very first post here. I "apparently" have road rage. But really I just laugh, make fun of and get stressed for stupid drivers. But once someone does something totally stupid like cut everyone else to get infront of the lane then not turn when supposed to. I'd be honking or following that person for a short period of time just to get on their nerves. You know, try to teach them a lesson. If they don't want me honking at them like that next time, well get out of the way so others can drive normally.

Well technically I had no family or kids. My baby was refering to my car. And the passenger was a friend. Which his life was in danger just as much as mines was.
Technically speaking, "road raging" can get the "road rager" in a more serious incident than he or she was in.. But it was a traffic jam. You are practically tailgating left and right no matter what you do. Cars are here and there, traffic moves at 0-20km/h. The chances of someone hitting you and causing any serious injuries there are practically unlikely.

This is also one thing why road raging is apparent. People ASSUME the personalities of other people just because of the way they drive or the stories they were in.
I KNOW I'm not an idiot. I know I am a jackass, but thats just me being an ass back to who was the ass first. Hey, it's karma.
People who are judging me for who I am because of ONE story I told, in my opinions, are the idiots and the jackasses.
You don't know me. So why call me an idiot and a jackass? Do you know how I really drive? No. Thats just ONE story.

Also I'm freaking 18. I'm SINGLE and "baby-free". Call me an idiot for having a baby at 18, which I DON'T have, rather than honking at someone in a traffic jam for almost ending my life.

I remember on our way back from OC, it was about a line of us in our cars on this little backroad, and this person (maybe 21 or 22) wouldn't let my friend pass. They were obviously drunk and just fucking around, but that is the wrong dude you want to be fucking around with. We used to play football together and man...he would probably be the last person I cross. Anyways, they did this for literally a mile or so, so he called us and we decided to slow down. It was literally like 8 of us, in like 4 cars and we slowed to a complete stop. The guy in the F150 was behind us and had no choice but to stop or ram into our cars. So my friend that was getting trapped before comes next to them, opens their door, and literally THROWS the guy out of the car and lays one punch to his face. His friend just STAYED in the passenger seat and didn't move...I wish I couldve seen everything but I was still in the car =/

So who classifies as the one with road rage?

I witnessed a Jetta ramming a Jeep Wrangler one night in New Haven when I was in college. The Jetta seriously rammed into the back of the Jeep over and over about 5 or 6 times before we lost sight of them. The scariest part was there was two kids in the back seats of the Jeep hanging onto the roll bar with no seat belts on. It was one of those moments where everyone in our car was like did that really just happen?

Actually just thought of another crazy incident. I was once again a passenger in my buddy's car (different buddy this time) and some guy with what looked to be his nearly elderly mother and his young kids in the back seat chased us into a mall parking lot because my buddy barely cut in front of him right before a red light because we made a last second decision to go to the mall so we needed to merge into the middle lane. It really wasn't that close but this guy thought we almost killed him because he was jumping all over the place in his drivers seat beeping the horn and waving his arm out his window like a maniac. So as we enter the mall parking lot this guy tries passing us and is about 6" from my buddy's bumper beeping and swerving all over the place like a lunatic and at one point nearly blocks us in but my friend was able to barely squeeze past him and we got the hell out of there. It was so crazy how this middle aged guy with an elderly passenger and kids in the back seat was being more of a jackass than the 17 year old kids he was chasing.

Youre an idiot just for the fact of what we have to do to decipher your posts.

Youre an idiot for the fact that you put your passenger in more danger tailgating a car around town honking your horn.

I dont care if your 18 or your 85. there is no excuse and an idiot is an idiot. If you want to put yourself in danger, thats fine by me. But have some common fucking sense when someone else is in the car.

Now you, sir, are an idiot. The fact that I posted my age was about having a kid or not. Not the fact of how I drive. If you wish to argue with me, please use proper diction and grammar.
If you read carefully, I even stated I was aware of the entire situation. Maybe you need to get into a traffic jam so bad that everywhere you go you are tailgating and others are tailgating you.
You, sir, are an idiot for not knowing how to read.
Decipher my posts? I'm having just as much trouble figuring out what word you are really trying to say and spell.

edit: It's sad that someone ten years older than I am has to argue with me in such a manner. Shouldn't you be mature enough to use proper grammar. Arn't you old enough to know how to read between the lines and not prejudge? Sad really.
I wasn't here flaming or attacking anyone. I just posted a story and I got attacked. You attack me, I defend. Worst case scenario I attack back. Well, looks like I just did.
