Rim size for a 745
My co-worker is finally getting around to modding his 745, and wants to throw some rims on there. What size should he get? I told him 22's, but he may just powdercoat his 18's..

22's go big or go home...

I voted 20's - 22's might be to big. I'd like to see some pics of what 22's look like on a 745.

on to the next one...
How are the roads in Jersey? If they are as shitty as they are here, I would stick with the 20's... You could put a little more rubber around them, nothing wrong with 20's...
But if he can swing them on the streets of Jersey, you HAVE to go with the 22's!
And, as always, post some pics when he decides

it's jersey, the roads suck.
22's are hot...but stick with 20.
i was getting new tires a few months ago and my guy actually recommended dropping to 16's on the tl to avoid bending rims

Just to let you know, you need a ridiculously thin tire in the back to fit 22's on a 745Li. I've seen 305/25/22's in the back on a 745, and being in Jersey having a 25-series tire is asking for a disaster. The Donz Brasco are ridiculously nice for a 22'' chrome wheel on a 745 though, but it's just dangerous to do.
My brother-in-law has a black '03 745Li, and he has the stock 19'' BMW wheels dipped in chrome. The car looks very sleek with that setup and dark tint. Maybe he should consider that - he got them for $1300 on ebay with Pirellis. You get plenty of rubber on your tires, the chrome look, and it still looks very clean.
For the record, I voted for 20's.

They look really nice on the car, and he has 45 series in the front and 40 in the back. It looks really clean - I'll try to get pictures soon. Tell your friend to look into them though - it looks very nice without being overboard.
