Just thought i'd share with you guys what I recently purchased. I traded in my 1999 TL with 140,xxx miles, for a 2011 Honda Accord LX-P with 35,xxx. I tried looking for a active Honda forum but im just used to Azine so i thought id stay.
So far I like the car but the turn off is the tan seats that are cloth
Just wondering on how im going to keep this thing clean or prevent it from getting dirty.
One thing im really not used to is the service reminders? Will the car warn me if it needs service or will I just have to check up on things when I take it to the dealer? I know it reminds me for oil but I don't know if it would remind me for any other service? if you want to keep your cloth seats in pristine condition, pick up some seat covers.
my parents have done this to every cloth seat vehicles they have.
when we sell the vehicle, we take the seat covers off and the seats literally look brand new.

Yes you will get warnings about service. You will see a wrench light up on the dashboard and the type of service will show/flash in the Odometer/Temp/Trip display. Not sure if this is officially called a MID on the Honda models.
When and if you bring your car into the dealer ( I do for simple oil changes because with the coupons on the dealer site, they can't be beat) they will likely go over an inspection and make recommendations of items that need to be addressed. Most of the time I turn these suggestions down and either ignore or take care of them myself. These items add up to $$$ for the dealer and if you are any type of DIY'er, you can save the $$$ and do it yourself.
In terms of OEM warranty - pretty sure all Hondas are still 3 YR / 36K miles. So in your case it will likely depend on the in service date of your car. If you are interested in an extended warranty, look at Bernardi Honda, Saccucci Honda or Hyannis Honda. There are multiple threads on these brick and mortar dealers and how competitive they are. Any Honda dealer should be able to look up your in service date.
I haven't had a car with cloth seats in a while, but when I did I used Carpet Resolve. Actually, I still use it on the floor and mats of my car. It gets the job done, and it smells really fresh. Just don't over-do it on the seats, and remember to (try) to wipe in one direction so you don't bead your cloth.
Trade it out for the Rolls in the background, I'm sure it has leather so problem solved.

As for the Rolls it has white leather so I wouldn't even consider that. I think the seat covers will be my best bet like Justn said, problem solved!
Gas on this accord is awesome! I don't know the exact numbers but going from a V6 to a 4cyl is the best thing that I have come across. I just feel the lack of power that it packs but that doesn't matter to me anymore, just my commuter back and forth to work. Going to get the oil changed today, $30.00 cant really beat that.
As for mods, I want to throw HID bulbs for headlights but I think it needs a HID kit to do this not to sure. Put some 35% tint all around and maybe new wheels and call it a day.
i have an 08 i4 and i don't think i'd buy another. You can tell where they cheaped out with certain things. Granted, it is really inexpensive to repair anything on this car so that's a plus.
I had a '14 lx loaner and preferred my car most of the time over it though.
Mine burns about a qt every 1-1500 miles, the headlights blink when the ac/defroster kicks on, and the paint is really thin.
I get 25mpg daily and then 30 on the hwy when doing about 70.
It's not a terrible car, but not top on my list anymore. I keep it b/c it's cheap and works for now.
I went to a '12 lxs coupe from my 99 tl and the accord seems a little stale. It's a good all around car to get you from point a to b with minimal hassles but there's no excitement in the drive. KTuner is coming out with a tunable ecu for us i4 accords so maybe that will add a bit of fun.

Base on my personal experience, you are lucky if you can match your current halogen headlight output with any aftermarket headlight HID or not. In most cases, they will look like you have 2 flash lights at night.
I'd suggest you to invest a little $ to a vendor on V6performance.net to do a real retro fit like this: (You will think it is the best few hundred bucks you ever spent) I believe we have a few guys here on the forum that do retro fit for $$ as well.

look for a good deal on a set of used housings online and just send him those.
like mentioned, an HID bulb in a regular housing will look like shit, blind people and wont have good output.
you can always buy some Sylvania silverstar bulbs if you want a slightly less yellow halogen bulb. just stay away from blue tinted halgoens.. they are usually crappy bulbs to begin with and the blue tint gives you even less output.

Some of the vendors have the exchange method.
You pay a deposit and they ship you the new retro fitted headlight and you ship your stock one back and get your deposit back.
Just don't buy those $200 headlights because you will hate driving with them at night.
Has anyone tried LEDs in the headlights?? Looking for a simple solution without wiring harnesses and balasts, etc for an 09 Accord.

Like 9006 LED and etc.
The installation is much easier and cleaner than HID because it does not need a ballast.
They are basically a stripped 9006 with 100000 LEDs on it.
Very very bright but the output is very uneven to be used for headlight. But for foglight i think they are perfect because of the color and you dont have to deal with hiding the ballast from the HID kit.

Just want something brighter / better than stock. We have an 09 Accord, 08 TLS and 07 ES350. Driving the Accord at night is poor in comparison to the other two cars. Think 9005 is the low beam and 9006 is high beam.
This is a truck with LED bulbs in stock housing and these trucks are significantly higher than your car.
You can see Yes LEDs are bright but you can also see its natural weakness from its pictures. Very straight and forward but not does not have a lot of range.
So dont do it.
Stock/Retro HID > HID with stock housing with corrected aiming >LED with stock housing> Aftermarket headlight with anything.

I don't drive the Accord all that often and even less at night but it's the car my kids drive. Maybe driving it all the time you get used to the light output, but like I said above - compared to the Lexus or Acura the difference is literally night and day. Pun totally intended

yah the difference between Halogen and good HID/LED is night and day.
But honestly, people have been driving at night with Halogen for decades i think your kids can learn to live with it, unless you want to do some real retro fit for them.
Did you ask them how long is it going to take to do the retro fit and does it include all the hardware? Make sure they use quality parts, not some no name brand projectors.
But $89 for an OEM style headlight is pretty cheap. So $320 for a pair of new headlight with real HID is a good deal considering how much labor it requires.

I didn't want to keep making threads about my accord so I thought id just keep posting here to keep the clutter down.
I have a couple questions about my new accord. A TPM concern and warranty concern.
My TPM light came on ( ! ) , so i ended up filling the tires with the right tire pressure. I never owned a car that had TPM sensors so all this is new to me. I'm having a problem with resetting the TPM light I have no idea on what to do? I looked online to see and every video was for a different model from my 11' LXP. Then i searched something up and said it needed a special tool to reset the light? This is weird. Just wondering how do you guys reset your accord TPM light?
I found out that my car still has power train warranty still in affect until next year November. The thing is that it is under the previous owners name, is it possible for me to transfer my name on to the power train or am i SOL?

If the Low Tire Pressure Indicator ( ! ) light is on, just refill the tires to the proper/factory recommended PSI. It may take a few miles of driving before the light goes off by itself. Car does this automatically on its own. No TPMS tool needed.
If for some reason the light stays on, then there may be something wrong with the TPMS module(s) (dead or low battery?).
The TPMS tool is to reset the module(s) so that they're recognized by your car when, for instance, you buy new a TPM module to replace a bad one or when you have to switch between regular and winter wheels and have 2 different sets modules in each wheel.
Hey Azine. Just updating my Accord thread, I would like to make it my BUILD THREAD but we'll see how this goes. Tinted her out on Saturday 35% all around and 20% for the eyebrow, everyone calls it something different. They used Johnson window film not to familiar with it but so far so good.
Now that I look at it I should of went with 20% all around, 35% is light. Here in Illinois 35% is required so i just followed the law.
Here are some pics.
Some other things I would to do is add LED lighting for the interior. Black out ALL the chrome && I would also like to swap out my OEM DRL lights and get the these yellow bulbs. Just worried if anything will get messed up because its not OEM. Does anyone have experience with them? Anything else needed?
