anywyas, that's pretty cool. i'd love to see a drift competition with someone running those tires.

 

i suspect he had a bottle of bleach/die in the car hooked to an electric compressor, squirting on the tires..operated from the drivers area.

Way off. Kuhmo has made some special tires that they are using for their drifting team in the US and Japan. The tires are special in that they are black, but when they smoke, they can smoke the colors in their mixture. I read an article in one of the tuner mags. Also they are not for sale yet. And they arentstreet legal because they are not DOT approved.

maybe this one instance since it's a kumho car but not way off. trick i learned as a teenager. looks just like that video. if there's another way of doing it that's fine, but the method i mentioned works and works well.

 

i've done it. many times. it works. (not the electric compressor thing though i can't see why that wouldn't work )
