As many of you know I did the Gulf wrap about this time last year. I freak'n loved it, it was awesome...but it attracted an unbelievable amount of attention. Like every stoplight I'd have people yelling and taking pictures. Mostly good attention, but some bad. Long story short, car is now white again. I've started toying with the idea of a simple color change. Solid color, but something bright and eye catching without being a race car. I do love the white, it is retarded clean, but...why not. My tops and interior are now black, got rid of all the orange bits...so anything will match. I've also debated on leaving it white but wrapping my mirrors in a red metallic.

Here are some colors I'm debating, as well as shot of my car how it sits now. I'd be curious to know what y'alls thoughts are. I dont want matte, satin or chrome.

I like the orange but it appears that it is satin, like the green, no?

 

Both are gloss.

 

I vote bright green. Seems to be the loudest/most eye catching. Don't think the emerald will look as good on your Miata.

I've seen it on GT3s, don't know if it was official or not. Minis as well. The color would be closer to the Minis palette, off white and dark red.

...I did buy a Miata.

 

although I think the above two are hideous, at least the mirrors make more sense with the additional red parts.

 

That does not mean you have to make it cuter

I could only vote for one color so I chose blue... but really that's b/c it's my favorite color

I am torn between the blue and the green...

 

JB, i'm in the same boat. blue is my fav color but that green...dunno if it's the green or the gt-r but man it looks good...

I do like that purple oddly enough. The silver looks good as well.

 

A subtle Martini livery is a good idea.

 

I like this as well but it wasn't an option... so I didn't want to push it.

On a side note... I love my 911, I really do. But why do I always think about selling it and picking up a Miata (and modding it) when I see you post your car. Dammit J

 

If you sweet talk me I might be open for trade.

I dig the martini livery, but I'd be in a similar boat I was in with the gulf. If I'm doing it, I want to do it right. That would mean the numbers, sponsors, etc. I'd want it to look as authentic as possible.

i saw a Ferrari 458 wrapped with some kind of chrome looking blue the past weekend.

I think similar to the green FRS in that pic above but in blue.

It was the most disgusting thing ever. so make sure you see it in person, not just pictures.

 

That FRS pic has some major contrast issues going on. That's not the best pic of that color. One of the company cars for the wrap company I do photography for is blue chrome, and aside from a giant star on the side the color is gorgeous.

yah that is the color i saw.

The problem with that particular one is it shows a lot of orange peel as you can see in that picture. The 458 i saw was a lot worse than that CTSV.

The color itself is nice but when you see it up close. it just magnifying every little imperfection and gives it a shiny but fuzzy kinda look. I think it is because it is somewhat chrome color.

 

ahhh fuck it.

Who are we kidding. Everyone wants to see this. So this is happening. Ill try and be less of a pussy about the attention.

 

if that is what you are going for, then this is a better wrap for you. Everyone will think urs is the 2016 Mazdaspeed MX5

The race car wrap would be better for pictures anyway.

 

What about a dark green, like that is on the Bullitt Mustang? I think that would look sick. It is not as "loud" as the other colors you mentioned but I still think it would grab attention. I also vote on leave it white with red mirrors like the current club racer. Maybe dip or powdercoat your wheels to go with that theme.
