My daughter has a 2002 Honda Accord and we just recently replaced her battery. Everyone knows, once you replace the battery, you have to input a code to unlock the radio. (She only has had the car a couple of years) Well, we went looking for the code in the glove box, owners manual and every where else I could think you. No code to be found. The only way to get the code was to remove the cover panel to get serial number off of the radio and contact the dealer to get code. One problem, I can not get the cover panel off because the 2 bottom screws are stripped. I have tried everything at my disposal to get them off... but no luck. Does anyone have a trick or a tool that will do the job?

take a tiny drill bit and drill out the screws?

not sure if this works on the 2002 models, but with the radio power off, hold down the 1 and 6 buttons, and while keeping them depressed,turn the power to the radio on. it will display the serial number on the screen

 

this worked perfectly.
