Raced the excellent new BLUE M3

we raced for about a mile...i was in back of him in slower traffic, then we took off...i kept right on his tail the whole way...it was funny...i could tell when he shifted b/c little poofs of smoke covered my baby (he did short shifts - no balls!! )...we did 90 before hitting a hill...downshifted into 3rd and pulled along side him...kid looked over...i smiled, he did as well...we pulled to a light and laughed...we both complimented each other and went our separate ways...now y can't we have more of these friendly races??

i have always loved m3 for a long time..either E36 or E46 model will satisfy me.. save up money to buy a E36 m3 or R32 or R33 gtr in the future... but i realize that E36 m3 is a bit cheaper ..compare to gtrs..haha.. always love m power..

One part of me wants to say good kill and go on...but the other wants to say how comes our car can keep up to just about everything. HELLO this is a new M3 we're talking about right? I mean it seems like there's no car you can keep stock and beat the CLS.

me thinks the fact that he short shifted all the way through the gears made it possible for me to keep up...im sure if he gave it a bit more juice i'd b watching him half a mile down the road.

You "raced" a NEW M3? You might have been "racing" but that guy obviously wasn't! Sounds like he was crusin' while you thought he was racing. Ah funny post.......

ok, how bout a pleasant Saturday afternoon 90 MPH joyride?? yeah, that's what it was, even tho my foot was on the floor the whole time in 3rd just to keep up with him...and o, what a beautiful car it was (we don't get many new M3's around where i live, only the 3's b/c so many older rich people live around here).

I like the new M3's, don't really like the looks of the older ones. The problem with even the newer ones is unless you are a BMW nut (which I am not), you can't tell its an M3 until you are close enought to the rear to see the emblem. I still like them, but way overpriced.

I saw a 330ci convertible over the weekend, that is very nice. I am now thinking of picking up a used cherokee for winter, the bimmer ragtop for summer. I guess there is a good amount of weight added by the top though, starting from the light the little 330ci was easily toasted, the girl looked pissed. Nice car though, especially in the rear view mirror

I would use the word race a lot looser in this instance. Sounds more like he was in 4th the whole time with his emergency brake on LOL. I think the term "Paced" an M3 would be more fitting.

you can pretty much always tell if the diff between a new m3 and 3-series. Yesterday I was driving home and saw one getting off the express way quite a ways back and could still tell it was a Blue m3. Im not sure what it is but you can definetly tell, maybe its lowered or has a front lip spoiler but its definetly something
