Question for you motorheads

So we just paid our Jeep Liberty off. One of the greatest feelings I must say.

Its on 02, its got about 108K miles on it. I just did all the brakes and Im about to put some new tires on it.

Ive gone over it bumper to bumper and everything seems to look good. It has wear and tear like anything with 108K but it runs like a champ. Changed the oil every 3K and have been taking it to jeep up till about 70K.

My wife loves it and wants to keep it for a while. It has a timing chain. So Im thinking we're good there. We've done nothing major to it in its life. Ive changed the battery etc, shit like that, but nothing big. Im just wondering if theres anything I should be doing to get another couple of years out of it. Maybe a higher mileage oil. Fuel injector cleaner.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

I would just keep doing what you're doing... Fix stuff as it needs it....

Higher mileage oil? You don't need it unless you're burning oil, and anyways going up to the next weight is usually the better choice. Keep doing what you're doing, get scheduled services, etc.

Regular maintenance. It's getting to the point where you may want to consider changing the coolant and trans fluid, but even those you can probably hold off for a bit. Are the brakes still good? I wouldn't switch oils either. Keep using what you are using. Injector cleaner? Nope. You'll know when you have a dirty injector. I would also take a look at the serpentine drive belt, and perhaps replace it if it's become worn or cracked.

Most of my trucks I run until the wheels fall off, and at around 100,000 miles I've generally had to replace the shock absorbers and a few suspension components. They are used commercially and generally worked quite hard however, and in your situation these components may not need replacing. I find being attentive and making any necessary repairs as they arise often negates the need for expensive repairs at a later time.

Run in until you have your money out of it. It's still a nice vehicle, but probably not worth much as far as resale is concerned. You should at least get a few more years out of it without the need to do any major repairs or servicing.

My wife's sentra has a timing chain as well. great for reducing costs compared to needing to do timing belt servicing on other cars.

My wife's sentra has 120K mi on it and one thing you may want to check is that you don't have any gaskets that are leaking. I'm sure you're already doing this too, check for any abnormal fluid drops in your reservoirs (power steering, brake, coolant, etc).

I can't think of anything else.

Check the undersides of each door for rust as well.... Jeeps are notorious for rusting out there because of cheap seals on the doors. I've found it on all of the 3 out of the 4 jeeps I've owned when they got up to 60-70k miles or 4-5 years old, however, they were all 2001 and older. I'd look just to be safe though.

I would change the fluid in the rear differential. Front differential and transfer case as well if its 4 wheel drive.
