Question about traffic ticket

Hey all, i got a ticket for a so call "ran stop sign" and was ordered to pay 139 dollars. Which i did three weeks ago. Just recently the court sent me a paper with cause number saying

STATE OF TX vs My Name
and ordered me to pay an addition 100 dollar for court fees
i never went to court and pay my fine online instead. I still didnt understand why the would charge me another 100 for court when i already paid the fine online.

Well my concern is. when they sent me the letter STATE of TX vs My Name
My name was misspelled and my address was misspelled

Now could i dispute this and not pay the extra 100 because they misspell my name and address?

Sounds like they didnt get the payment and issued you a court date to fight it..

When you paid, was there a section where you pleaded guilty or not guilty?

Call the court clerk and find out what is going on with your case.

i called the clerk and they say they did receive my payment for 139.
and he told me that the 99 dollar was for the fee of processing my court. of course when u paid online ur automatically saying ur guilty to have ur payment process.

back to my question about the misspelling.

You are going to lose on the misspelling.

i see.
i still dont know why they would charge an extra 100 if i didnt go to court and paid my fine after 1 week the ticket was issued.

here's what it said on the online payment
Notice:
By paying your ticket online, you will be entering a guilty plea and
waving your rights to a jury trial. Your violation will be recorded
as a conviction and reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

I'd call again and ask why there was no notice given about court fees on the letter sent to you stating you can pay the fine online. Is it possible they thought you appeared in court and then assessed you those costs?

That is fucked up. When I got my speeding ticket in Irving I paid something like a $127 flat fee for defensive driving and that included all court fees n stuff, but also meant I pleaded guilty.

What city was it in? Some municipal courts are fuckups...

There should be no court fees unless you actually went to court.

Or they should have already been added into the original fine.

I've fought a few different tickets and had pretty good luck so far (only lost one court fight for speeding), and I've never had to pay a "court fee"... Even the one that i fought and lost, the fine in the end was the same it would have been had I paid it outright from the beginning. I'm sure it varies from state to state, and possibly city to city, but an extra hundred bucks for a court fee on a stop sign is ridiculous. Try talking to them again?

yeah this was in arlington
whats funny is that one of my friend got a ticket in arlington and then he went to court and didnt have to pay for court fee.
wtf?! if i would of known i would just pay in person and go to court

i thought paying online avoid taking a day off to go to court and deal with it to save some money...i guess they wanna fck me over

i called them and they told me that it was file processing fee..bs
i just paid it..so i end up paying 235 for running a stop sign (i'm pretty sure i did stop but the cop insisted that i "roll")
